    Good evening fellow comrades.

Well hopefully it’s a case of the early bird catches the worm this week.

The final leg of the Desert swing takes us to Dubai for the Dubai Desert Classic and as with the previous two weeks top notch stuff on show.

    Main Selection.

Of the three at the head of the market i’m afraid i will be going again with Henrik Stenson, as with the other two Sergio and Ernie it is fair to say the price is not much to write home about but i just feel that Henrik represents the best value of the three at present.

    Next Best.

Three here, ok i did not know what to make of Robert Karlsson’s showing last week, if the cobwebs have been blown away and the bounce factor is negotiated then i feel a more prominent showing could be in the offering.

Martin Kaymer will be next in line, sorry chaps predictability rules at the moment  but he only just lost out to the headmaster last year and i think it’s fair to say he has improved ten fold since then.

Completing my trio for this part will be Ross Fisher, hopefully there will be nothing fishy going on here :) again another who has performed more than adequately in recent renewals of this and as such merits a reasonable E/W investment this week i feel.

    Longshots.

No real longshot as such this week but i felt that Darren Clarke warranted a second look, as with so many here he has performed more than respectfully in previous renewals to merit consideration, here’s hoping there is a good week in him this week.

Several more warrant a mention but there are too many to name, except maybe one Johan Edfors, having gone with him for the last two weeks i have reluctantly passed him over this week the Eggs await

Ok stateside this week sees the FBR Open or in our case hopefully the Four Brilliant Rounds Open :) .

This is as you are aware JB Holmes time havig won it twice recently who’s to say a third victory is not beyond him, alas this week not for me though.

Geoff Ogilvy and Zach Johnson are two players on more than good terms with themselves at present, Zach as you know did your’s truly a splendid deed two weeks ago but i feel that on this occassion both he and the Saint might come up just short, as with Johan Edfors the Eggs await.

    Main Selection.

Hunter Mahan has that honour this week, having selected him as a player to follow last year it’s fair to say that i led you up the garden path there, here’s hoping he can go some way to repaying that with a prominent showing this week.

    Next Best.

Bit of a hunch with this one but i have a feeling that Kenny Perry might justify an interest this week, granted he does not usually trouble the judge at this time of year but he had a good outing at the Nedbank just before xmas granted not a large field to suggest that stat may possibly be broken at somepoint.

    Longshots.

First up here is somebody who i latched onto towards the end of last year and att he price i thought a small E/W could not be missed on Kevin Streelman and finally for again i think the odds available are more than attractive and as with the above a small E/W on Jonathan Byrd might come up trumps.

Well as always The Best Of Luck to everyone.

    Cheers.

    Adrian.

Good luck to Adrian, FanciedHorseLayer, Aaronizeez and anybody else betting on the golf this week :)

The final leg of the desert swing is the

    Dubai Desert Classic

and one player who loves this event is Ernie Els but I cannot back him at the odds on offer taking into account his recent form. I have also decided to leave Henrik Stenson out of my selections as odds of 8/1 do not appeal to me. He has won this tournament before but I think he prefers the one at Qatar where he nearly won last weekend.

Adrian will be dismayed to learn that I fancy the chances of 3 of his selections. I am betting on

    Martin Kaymer

who nearly won a fortnight ago and finished runner up here last year. I think that

    Robert Karlssson

may have needed the run last week :) and am backing him to do better at this event.

    Ross Fisher

has been a lucky player for me in the past and has won or often given me a good run for my money so I’m hoping he can continue this trend. He has played well here in recent years.
My final choice after a lot of thought is

    Johan Edfors

who has recently shown signs of a revival to some good form which will probably come to an end now that I have selected him.

Phil Mickelson makes his first appearance of the year on the pga circuit in the

    FBR Open

which has the notoriously rowdy 16th hole. It is likely that there will be more spectators ( 20,000 ) at this hole this sunday than there are at a lot of Championship league soccer matches. This video show what happened when a young Tiger Woods made a hole in one here –

No Tiger this week but I think that as long as

    Anthony Kim

has recovered fully from his recent injury then he may go close and he will relish the course atmosphere. Odds of 14/1 look reasonable value.
    I’m not sure that

    Geoff Ogilvy

likes this event but he in such good form that I cannot leave him out.
    I’ve noticed that

    Hunter Mahan

often plays well after a break from golf so I think he is worth a bet this week and I’m giving another chance to

    Arron Oberholser

    at odds of 110/1. Finally

    Sean O’Hair

has started well this year with 4th and 12th place finishes so he is my final choice.

    Happy punting :)

    Starting off with Dubai.

Main selection is Miguel Angel Jimenez who played well last week and has three top ten finishes in recent years here. Second choice is Niclas Fasth who also figured last week and has played well in this event the last 4 years.

A couple of outsiders to finish with are Simon Dyson and I’m once again Jyoti Randhawa

    FBR Open

Stephen Ames finished well last week and so carries the burden of my selection along with Stewart Cink. Two outsiders I like are the two Kevin’s, Na and Sutherland who have both played well here in the past although Na’s recent form leaves a little to be desired.

    Best of luck to all
