    Good afternoon everyone.

Well after the goings on at Augusta things move on to two differing events this week plus I will be having a delve at the Steakhouse Pro-Am on the Seniors Tour.

I will begin with the Verizon Heritage on the PGA Tour and I have to say it’s one of my favourite courses on the PGA Circuit.

Several on duty at Augusta last week make the pilgrimage south and whilst I don’t usually climb aboard anyone who has played in a Major the week after, just recently I have bucked that trend as there has been more than one occasion that somebody has followed up a good showing in a Major without it has to be said triumphing often but being there or thereabouts at the Business end.

So who I hear you ask is going to step up to the plate this week, well hopefully one of these four.

    Main Selection.

Well I have been lured perhaps falsely this time to the corner of Jim Furyk 16/1, there was just enough in places last week to maybe suggest a long overdue victory might just be around the corner, although the price could have perhaps been a few notches higher greed on my part again :) in the context I suppose 16’s is not completely rubbish.

Others at the head of the market will be chomping at the bit to improve on there showings last week and two I hope will be keener than the rest this time around.

    Next Best.

As mentioned two here and they will be my Proteas friends Tim Clark 33/1 and Trevor Immelman 66/1.

Tim Clark duly kept up the tradition of those who had won the Par 3 contest at Augusta by not going on to claim glory in the following four day’s, however he battled away quite manfully I thought to give hope of another prominent showing this time around.

At first glance Trevor Immelman’s chance does not quite seem so obvious at present but it’s what has become something of usual theme for me recently in that I feel his price is worthy of a second look if a return to former glories is forthcoming.

    Longshot.

Granted he has to put a missed cut behind him in this last year but fleeting evidence this season has lead me to believe that he is by far not a complete no hoper here and as such a small investment on Vaughn Taylor 90/1 might just come off this time.

Ok moving to the European Tour and this week’s offering in the Race To Dubai this being the Volvo China Open.

It would be fair to say not to bad a turnout I feel, but there is only one place for me to start here and the gent in question will be carrying my nap selection this week, a missed cut now awaits  .

    Main Selection.

Having triumphed the other week in the Black Mountain Masters, Johan Edfors 18/1 is I feel for me to good to pass up here, he is a strong selection from these quarters this week to hopefully follow up and at the same time get me back on the winning trail, I will be cracking the whip behind his every shot to help in this cause :), go get em me old China  .

    Next Best.

Well it would appear that Proteas contenders are to the fore again, as with Messrs Clark and Immelman my next selection also hails from South Africa and if he can translate his Sunshine Tour exploits to the Far East then James Kingston 50/1 could I feel have a say in the final destination should plan A fail.

    Longshot.

A stab in the dark it has to be said on this occasion but also having shown up in a few tournaments recently as well as also having complete blowouts it has to be said, but if this is one of the going weeks then Magnus Carlsson 200/1 might sneak into a place for me, it has to be said I am not expecting a win but stranger things have happened and again at the odds a small investment has been the order of the day.

Finally for these parts and a rare delve for me lately into the Seniors Tour and I felt it was time for Steak  and low and behold we have this week none other than the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am.

I am going singled handed here the gent in question is none other than Mark James 40/1 but I am not sure if Odds Checker has got a hangover  because my lot are going 125’s not sure that is right but hopefully we will get clarification soon.

Well that will do it for me for now so as always The Best Of Luck to Pete, Aaronizneez, Crizzy and anyone else having a bash this week.

    Cheers.

    Adrian.

Good luck to Adrian, Crizzy, aaronizneez and everybody else betting on the golf this weekend :)

The pga tour continues with the

    Verizon Heritage

in South Carolina which is a tournament that Boo Weekley enjoys playing as he has won it in both of the last 2 years – can he get the hat trick? My opinion is no as he is not playing as well this year. Instead I am betting on 4 other players –

    Jim Furyk

has never won this event but has twice finished runner up in recent years and this course suits his style of play. He finished 10th in the Masters last week which was his best performance at Augusta for a few years. It is possible that Furyk is on the decline as he has not won since July 2007 but as I have doubts about some of his market rivals then I think he is worth backing at the BF odds of 17/1 obtained.

    Aaron Baddeley

is another player who enjoys playing this event and finished runner up last year and won it in 2006. He played better than I expected at the Masters and looks worth an interest this week. I was probably being too optimistic by selecting

    Trevor Immelman

last week but he is definitely showing some signs of a return to form so I think he is worth another chance here.
    My final pick is

    Jonathan Byrd

who lost his form during the second half of last year but has managed to finish in the top 15 in each of his three most recent tournaments so looks to have a chance of gaining his 4th victory on the pga tour.

The race to Dubai this week goes to China and the

    Volvo China Open

takes place in the city of Beijing where my good friend

    Jiajia

lives so I hope she will be waving to me from the golf course during the final round on Sunday :D

I noticed that asians have not performed particularly well at this event in the past with J.M. Singh being the only asian winner of it. This may be due to the length of the par 72 course and I have therefore decided to not select any asian players for this ( so expect one to win :) ) even though the Thailand player Chipchat Nirat did tempt me as he can certainly hit the ball long distances and has been in good form recently.

    Johan Edfors

is another long hitter who won three events on the Euro tour during 2006 but has failed to win on it since. However he did win on the asian tour a few weeks ago which may have boosted his confidence and as the field for this event is not that strong then I reckon he is worth betting on to follow up here.

    Nick Dougherty

has not been playing that good recently and I have selected him because the opposition is not that strong but mainly because he has often played well during his career in asia including China.
Another player who has previously performed well in China is

    Robert-Jan Derksen

and he nearly won the Asian Open last year in Shanghai. He is inconsistent but can hopefully win this week.
I’m also betting on a return to form for

    Hennie Otto

who won on the Euro tour last season and my final pick is

    Rafa Echiniqe

who is another long hitter from Argentina who showed his first sign of form for this season when finishing 12th in the Portugal Open recently. He nearly won in China in 2007 and will continue the good run of Argentinean golfers this season if he wins this week.

    Happy Punting :)

Completely forgot to put my money down this week which would have gone on Jim Furyk, Kevin Na and Jason Bohn. I hope Sods Law isn’t working this week !

Best of luck to everyone who remembered to get on

Have had a sh**er at work and at home and simply have not had time to post my selections which is probably a good thing! Back next time but all the best to all those who have had a bet this week
