Well, you should mention that he injured himself when jumping the most unnecessary obstacle on a race course: the water jump

Very sad to see Third Time Lucki’s name here. He was such an exciting novice chaser, and it was lovely seeing him return to form recently.

It looked to my eyes as if he cleared the water jump fine but broke down on landing. Whatever happened, it’s an unbefitting end for a wonderful horse.

So sad to know that Third Time Lucki couldn’t be saved & I do agree with previous comment, that the water jump is a pointless obstacle. I’m wondering how many trainers have a water jump on their gallops RIP 😥🥀

VF, no offense intended. It’s just a bad and tricky obstacle which can cause injuries even to a sound jumper like Third Time Lucki. He had a very good jumping record which makes this even worse.
