My knowledge of football is poor to say the least, but impressed by Japan’s game. Their long ball game could prove to be a real shocker.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 26, 2022 at 21:54 #1624767Too early to tell; England still have a decent shout, depends on how the draw works out from the last-16 onward. Last time, by virtue of being beaten by Belgium and coming 2nd in the group, England had a handier path to the final. I still remember the expression of the Belgium manager when they scored!
Spain looked good, but big wins can be misleading (like England over Iran), and considering their injury list (esp Benzema), France have been impressive.November 28, 2022 at 00:24 #1624977Might I congratulate the Germans for having a chance with their late goal to sneak into the group stages.
It wouldn’t be quite the same without them !November 28, 2022 at 14:09 #1625007Advice for England football team from an expert

I’m still a bit gutted they scored a goal, though.
Guess I can’t have everything.

November 30, 2022 at 20:56 #1625226I’ve only just got in to see the second half Cork, at least I saw the goal.
I didn’t see the penalty incident, but I’ll Catch up with it later. I like
the poles, but how the heck do you mark Messi. When he runs at you, you have
no idea which way he’s going to go.I feel a bit of a hypocrite (interuption 2-0 Argentina) as I thought the award
to Katar was a shocker. My sis in law hates football anyway and is a political
animal. She asked if I would watch any of the games, and at the time I told her
no way would a take any part of it. She said she was proud of me.And then……I couldn’t help it A match came on when I wasn’t
expecting it, and I was hooked It’s going to be worse when I
head down that way (Wellesburne) around Christmas. I’m going to have to
deny it, but she can smell a lie at 20 yards.I’m going to have to put it in my New Year resolutions, I promise not to show
any form of support for regimes with more than dodgy human rights.November 30, 2022 at 21:32 #1625229Don’t worry about it BigG, Qatar won’t be changing its ways because a few westerners turned their TVs off. From a purely footballing point of view it’s actually been quite good, no need for anyone to deny themselves something they’ll enjoy when it’ll make no difference whatsoever. Only widespread coordinated action years ago might have done something, too late now.

Cat, ahIt’s so easy to confuse a cute moggy and a byproduct of illness with a dodgy human rights regime.
Maybe FIFA just got confused?
I’m still waiting for the loveable cat to appear along with a decongestant.

she is an animal lover, but then again ………
You don’t now my sis in law, I think I’m damned. She hangs
her leather Gestapo coat at the door as a warning. I’LL
probably be on dog waking duties for the week. Those

Unlucky big G!
On the football. I meant not to watch any.
I have to admit I lasted about two matches before peeping from behind the sofa.December 1, 2022 at 12:41 #1625275First time on this thread so if what I’m about to impart has already been covered my apologies.
Do you remember the ‘good ole days’ when you could scream at the ref for,in your opinion, getting decisions wrong?
So a few years ago they brought in VAR to clear up the decision making process.Yet pundits the so called ‘experts’ tv companies pay a fortune to for insight,as well as getting a freebie holiday, now rage at the verdicts of the system.
Sorry but wait a minute what have I to be sorry for as my opinion is just as valid as their laughable comments when a player falls to the ground after leaping a couple of feet in the air then rolling around in supposed agony after ….
winning a foul, drawing a foul or the multitude of of other ways they use to describe what in my book is plain cheating.
Rather than complain about VAR I suggest they put their own house in order and call it exactly what it is CHEATINNG!
Not too long ago it was ‘simulation’ when the public got tired of that they moved on to the present crass way getting round the viewers outrage by talking of ‘winning’ a free kick or foul.Players like Grealish, who falls over at the drop of a hat,are not going to change their ways until useless pundits stop endorsing their antics and call them out as cheats.

As The Shamen lyric went: “Eezer Goode, Ezzer Goode….”
However, I don’t think they were referring to the letter E anymore then they were referring to some bloke called Eberneezer Goode.
