THE VILLAGE returns to the track after his break, taking part in the opening novices’ hurdle on Perth’s Wednesday card. He returns after treatment for a breathing problem and is expected to perform a good deal better than he has done previously.
The race has cut up to four runners, offering prize money for all assuming they get round. Gabrial The Great and Alphabetical Order are rated 135 and 129 respectively, so it’s unrealistic to expect to compete with them, but with Roll Of Thunder having shown only modest form it’s reasonable to expect third place to be well within The Village’s compass at this stage.
We should learn much from this run and will be looking forward to some competitive runs once handicapped.
