The Idea of Even running the same horse in these three races is silly..If you win the derby you have t o go for the Arc with out doubt….Bolger might niot be training Tefilio next year….Ya heard it here first.

Quote: from Grimes on 11:35 pm on Sep. 19, 2006[br]There were a few French mares that won the Arc a while back around the same decade, I think.
Allez France, and Three Troikas spring to mind, but I think there might have been one or two more, before the more recent fallow period.

Grimes
Can’t remember whether they won, or just went close, but Dahlia & Park Top were top class around that era.

Five in succession from 79-83:
Three Troikas
Detroit
Gold River
Akiyda
All Along
The ’70s also saw San San, Allez France and Ivanjica win.
Since All Along’s win there’s been but one filly to win: Urban Sea (French).
Ouija Board was a tad unfortunate.
Edit: Reet Hard
Park Top was second to Levmoss in ’69 and I believe Dahlia never ran in the race as she spent the autumn racing in North America.

September 20, 2006 at 14:26 #77413Bully, not sure you could say Visindar ran a stinker? I thought he didn’t see the distance out (he’d never ran that far before and over 11 the previous time he didn’t win as convincingly as over 10).. He came from pretty much the same position as Sir Percy in that race so had every chance… Both haven’t been seen out since (admittedly visindar won’t be out again) but I think thats an unfair assessment of the derby.. I hope Sir Percy wins it..
October 1, 2006 at 15:01 #77414Today’s performance by Holy Roman Emperor gives some encouragement that Teofilio could be one of those once a decade or even, he says hesitatingly, once in a lifetime horses.
May 19, 2012 at 22:56 #218252 out of 3 for I’ll Have Another and Camelot surely will do the same here – it’s like buses, you wait a lifetime and they all come at once <!– s:shock: –>
<!– s:shock: –>May 20, 2012 at 00:00 #404827I’ll Have Another looks the more likely of the pair. I am sure it is very likely he’ll tackle the Belmont. From a purely visual impression, he looks like a real stayer too, so I think he has a huge chance of doing it.
May 20, 2012 at 03:59 #404832I’ve a feeling Aiden O’Brien might send Camelot for the St Leger if he wins the Derby.
I hasn’t been done since the Arc left port and winning the Triple Crown would probably draw just as much attention to Camelot than winning the Arc would.
No denying he’s the best 3yo around at the moment I just don’t think he’s a budding superstar and his limits might be exposed later in the season and the St Leger might be the wiser option.
I tried to call Aiden to advice him but surprising his mobile was engaged
May 20, 2012 at 04:13 #404834I missed the Preakness but felt for sure their would be a recording available for the purpose of promoting US racing….Some fooked up Yankee TV company blocked it on Youtube the brainless twits

Seeing as the breeders are more interested in Sprinters these days.
May 20, 2012 at 08:55 #404844Not often, but this time they will.

The last horse to attempt it was successful. What commercial breeders want are quick results. What a stallion needs is a hallmark runner in his first 2 crops. If Camelot were to win the triple crown, his Racing Post Trophy and Guineas wins would offset the St Leger negative in the short term.

*And the races he would potentially win if he runs as a 4yo. Like that would ever happen
