Yeah I played my bench boost though. Good start but in not keen on players that aren’t starting every week in my team.

Some clever players using their bench boosts in GW1.

    2 Relegation Fodder 84

As the weeks move on, Ill figure out this column thing and to add some additional interest keep a record of the highest score during the season with and without chips.

Interesting week this week with Liverpool v Arsenal.

It’s possibly worth keeping attacking assets from either side. It’s hard to see Liverpool not scoring even against that defence, and given our defensive displays so far Arsenal are bound to score.

I see on various sites a lot of Everton players being bought, trebling up on Everton seems a bit rash to me.

Its always difficult with matches like that, to make a choice on including defenders, unless they are up for set pieces.
I certainly did well with my wild card, Anthony Gordon giving me a nice -2 with his red card.
If Newcastle manage to sign Woltemade, hes my next transfer. Thought he was very impressive in the U21’s during the summer.

Loaded up with Forest players for tomorrow, watch the Hammers hammer the Woods tribe.

Should be a safe bet West Ham have been awful

West Ham have not been good, but their stats have been freakish:

“Sure, they have played poorly, but they have also converted 24 shots into one goal, no points and last place while Forest, for example, have turned 20 shots into four goals, four points and fifth. Meanwhile at the other end of the pitch 55% of all shots taken against them have been on target, and two-thirds of those – 36.4% of the total number of shots they have conceded – have gone in. These are unsustainably freakish numbers: in none of the last five completed seasons has any team seen as many as 16% of the shots their opponents have taken go in.”

    Wildcard played.

As I’m not a big football fan I used my version of AI (Absolute Ignorance) to pick my team.

I’ve got my nephew involved now who did alright for me last season.

Great Info there from Gladiateur, far above my head.

Good luck with that Homer, I wish Id waited until the transfer window was over. But Blade has blasted off at warp speed and I was trying to keep up, Doh.

That’s all very well and good, but those stats are there for a reason it’s not just bad luck. If you give quality players enough time and space you would expect them to hit the target.

How many times would you except a premier league player to miss the target inside 18 yards with no pressure on the ball?

And with that comes a much higher percentage of those shots going in.

But in the Premier League you rarely get time and space.
