I was on the verge of betting a fiver on him today but his age put me off and so I backed Moremaloke instead
That’ll teach me to be ageist
Still, this grand old warrior deserves his own book. Wonderful horse!
December 12, 2011 at 21:02 #382387A fantastic sign-off, a proper racehorse.
December 12, 2011 at 23:41 #382408A fairytale ending for an old horse carrying too much weight and with a bad draw to overcome in a 5f sprint.
Wins by a sh in a three way. I shall keep an eye out for the next one.
December 13, 2011 at 00:01 #382410Nice to see him win his swansong. A good ol’boy with a nice attitude; grown old with another good ol’ boy with seemly eyebrows, leathery friendly face, even friendlier burr, and immaculate mossy-tweedy attire
Irresistable
December 13, 2011 at 01:28 #382421Great to see this old warrior win his final race tonight in style.
The Tatling is what horseracing is all about, taking chances, not always winning and sometimes having to settle for second best or worse, but having the ability to bounce back and prove your doubters wrong.
May he have a long and happy retirement.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 13, 2011 at 01:53 #382422I hope he has a long and happy retirement. I doubt sitting in a field would be to his liking, so i hope they find him a new job to keep his mind ticking over.
December 13, 2011 at 10:03 #382445I began a system for AW racing many years ago aiming to identify genuine handicappers, The Tatling was one of the first to register. Others have long ago fallen by the wayside.
What a career, I backed him consistently and won regularly. A big thank you from me and I wish him a happy retirement.December 13, 2011 at 11:06 #382450How did he know? Too high in the weights, bad draw, I don’t think he had won there before, but he still won. He must have known it was his last race!

is a real disgrace
to the beauty of sum
and the mathematical race
In bed with the book shakers
its lifetime form grates worse
than size sixteen with a curse
or a hooker with a four foot purse
who before the champagne phones first
for a cheap plastic wreath and a pink hearse. - AuthorPosts
