"If you have done your homework conscientiously, you must trust your principles and stick to them consistently. The right temperament is essential. When some people back a couple of losers,
their principles go out the window
. You must have real confidence. There are days when you are wrong. That is the end of the story”. (Michael Tabor).
June 8, 2013 at 06:14 #442147Betting a horse, that you otherwise wouldn’t even consider, because they’re a longshot. And coming up with faulty reasons to support them (i.e. "they’re due for a win").
June 8, 2013 at 07:58 #442152Continuing to bet following the arrival of exchanges. Connections are laying horses largely to recoup costs of transporting horses to meetings at which their animals are in no danger of winning.
June 10, 2013 at 14:54 #442372Having no idea how much they win or lose on betting. Still, if everyone was good at this game there wouldn’t be much game left.
June 10, 2013 at 20:00 #442410Following tips from horse racing experts on Facebook.

Value is everything!!
June 10, 2013 at 22:26 #442424having a bet in crap midweek races just for the sake of having a bet when you probably wouldnt pick the winner of the race with six shots
June 12, 2013 at 13:16 #442585Believing the money is their before the race has started. This can exaggerate the feeling of loss and cause bigger bets and thus bigger losses.
Betting for the sake of it – Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Brighton on a weekday and trying to find something of interest. At a higher level, the big race on and everyone wants to pick the winner. Sometimes there are just too many form horses in a race ( forecasts are great here )
I marvel at people who back 12-1 shots in these races and complain when they finish second. " I had it on the nose "
You most certainly did.
