Strange but true – a former member of this forum (known as “dungheap” on here) took me to a local working person’s club, run by a bunch of Asian lads, in Wolverhampton circa 2004 which served the most amazing array of local curries, breads and rice and charged next to nothing for it.
I’ve nothing against Wolverhampton racecourse, but I’d rather have a local curry than endure the utter cringe that is The Racing League circus.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 6, 2023 at 22:11 #1662079Sounds great Ian. I’d opt for that meal over hospitality at any top meeting, let alone the Racing League, even if it did mean visiting Wolverhampton.
September 7, 2023 at 11:47 #1662098Windsor, Chepstow, Wolverhampton I wonder what the racecourses think about having 50k meetings every race and sky there.
It isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But there must be a certain fascination with it as it appears to have a multi page thread declaring how awful it all is.September 7, 2023 at 14:38 #1662106Although I don’t think much of the RL in the final contest an interesting horse to watch is Space Cowboy with regard to the future.
Dunstall Park may not compare with many courses but for what it is it’s a fantastic place and curry is acceptable but I prefer a balti…….. and used to visit the Crooked House until those vandals got their hands on it!
good luck to allSeptember 7, 2023 at 14:51 #1662109Agree BCK. Wolverhampton may not be the best track in the country but admission prices are fair enough and you get a good, clear view of the racing from the stands. That is more than you get at some venues.
September 7, 2023 at 19:23 #1662124Nice to see Ireland get a winner in the Racing League.
Trained by George Boughey in that well known Irish town of Newmarket.
September 7, 2023 at 20:09 #1662129They do themselves no favours by changing the rules halfway through the event (last year) and tonight for this years. Minimum 12 runners for jokers dropped to 11 tonight so Chappers could play his joker, thankfully it backfired.

Won by eleven lengths last time at Epsom will the 13 pound rise stop him or the all weather?
Billy the kid on board here.
Faylaq hasn’t won in over five years but is falling down the weights what can stop him off this tiny mark was a 95 winner back in the day!!
Pm on board here….,September 7, 2023 at 21:32 #1662135Cork All Star previously pointed out (quite correctly , in my view) the Sky Sports Racing presenters desperation in repeatedly emphasising how brilliant everything in the Racing League is.
However , tonight they plumbed even new depths of desperation when they highlighted Laura Pearson as one of the star jockeys on show. I have nothing against Pearson personally , and she seems a competent jockey to me. However , I think that even her own parents would think that it was stretching credibility to claim that their daughter was a star jockey.

I can’t wait!!
Two winners is my aim for this meeting and it is certainly a challenge.September 13, 2023 at 09:24 #1662819Taking the positives, it’s the last one (for this year, anyway) tonight, isn’t it?

If it is, you’ll be able to focus on the fencing…
September 13, 2023 at 09:54 #1662824Won’t Scotland be able to play some sort of “super joker” so they get quadruple points if they win the last race with a horse trained by an Englishman?
Or something like that.
Alex, Josh and Leona will all assure us it is brilliant, anyway.
September 13, 2023 at 11:21 #1662828Thankfully this nonsense is about to come to an end.
Hopefully the powers that be will realise their folly and put a stop to it once and for all.
If that were the case , then the only thing that would be missed would be the enhanced prizemoney on offer.
I see nothing wrong in an upbeat , positive presentation style , but this staged “happy clapper” drivel needs to be binned. A bit of objectivity please , moving forwards.September 13, 2023 at 11:26 #1662830“Alex, Josh and Leona will all assure us it is brilliant, anyway.”
Ron Pickering on the BBC used to be exactly the same about obscure Olympic events.
If the commentator feels the need to tell the viewer what they are watching is really interesting/great you can have your biggest bet of the year it’s neither.
