If you look at her reaction last time she had a winner at the Royal meeting there can be little doubt as to how much a Derby win would mean to her – it would also bring some much needed positive publicity to the sport in the non-racing media.
Although it would be great if she wins The Derby any year I think it would be even better and it would be an even bigger story if she were to win it next year, in her Golden Jubilee year – especially as The Derby meeting will coincide with the main Jubilee celebrations.
Now that would be a story.

May 19, 2011 at 16:11 #356126One is totally ambivalent.

Cormack, the mere image of old Lizzy "lumping on" makes me chuckle.
" Erm, One would like six pennies to four please… Carlton Hise,
Mr. Bookie chap. "

May 21, 2011 at 14:20 #356440The Queen is a incredibly knowledgable person. The Rock of Cashel she knew everything about it and the various types of infrastructure.
The woman that brought her around said she was amazed with her knowledge of the place.
She didn’t visit Ballydoyle because she had to use the helicopter but i think she used it anyway to get to Coolmore?.
I found that strange but nevertheless she really enjoyed herself. I found myself wondering how a woman of 85 had such stamina…she reminded me of my grandmother but once she spoke she really has a voice that cut through the air and no signs of ill health or stuttering. A impressive Human Being.
