This year I has noticed a massive decline in the speed figures of the French 2yo’s, they are currently 20lb inferior to the English and Irish 2yo’s.

Last year I pointed out the best French 2yo Penny’s Picnic who earned a massive speed figure from me of 85 at Chantilly on the 30th April 2012, and Penny’s Picnic went on the win both a group 3 and group 2 contests and ended up with a speed figure of 93.

We are now approaching the end of July and the top two French 2yo’s in my list are So In Love and Victorianvalentine both have earned speed figures of only 69 <!– s:shock: –><!– s:shock: –>

Didn’t have long to wait to check out my French 2YO theory because David Brown ran

    My Catch

at Maisons-Laffitte today, who had a speed figure

    86

against the best of the French 2yo’s

    Royale Du Buiss

    who’s best figure was

    54

    who finished 2nd 8)

Ok you are not going to get rich with a

    3/5 fav

, but hey this muppet will take it :D

    Edit:

    Forgot to mention that

    My Catch

    speed figure today was

    74

    on a going allowance of

    -0.05s/f

    (Good).

I found it very interesting actually.

Didn’t have to wait long? Your example is totally ludicrous.

Moreover, you ignore the Prix Robert Papin where your (65) rated frenchy beat not one(89), not two(88), but three(81) of your 80+ rated brits.

Anyway, it’s not even about one race here or another there which marks your primary assertion about the quality of french juveniles as 24 carat muppetry.

I must admit you came up with an excellence example concerning The Prix Robert Papin

The main point of this post, was about the French winners of the 2yo races in France, have not been returning fast speed figures, and

    Vorda

    the winner of the

    Prix Robert Papin

only earned a speed figure from me of only

    54

, I had the going allowance on the day at

    +0.08s/f

    (good).

Looking at Dave Edwards "Top Speed" figure for the race, he gave

    Vorda

    a speed figure of

    52

and that included the 2yo WFA allowance 8)

I should think that Qatar Racing were not happy bunny’s with

    Extortionist

    finishing last

I believe that Qatar have enough cash to buy the aspirins to get over the pain and become happy bunnies again. As the Queen Mother once said if you cannot handle depression don’t get into the horse racing business.
