I downloaded the Timeform racecard for Ludlow. Never used one before: crikey, it’s fiddly.
Anyway. After a lot of squinting:

1/5 Odds 14/1 To Run2nds and 3rds. SIN BIN is going to win soon. Stephanie was beaten and neck, still probably pull it off somewhere. Highway Code was what I call a joyride: Run it pedal-to-the-metal and see what happens for next time. We haven’t heard the last of him.

The Package.
December 6, 2014 at 13:43 #497652I had 7 horses in that race.
Steve Caution note: I am happy to lose!
December 6, 2014 at 14:01 #497655I had Dunraven Storm and Irish Saint. That’d be right.
December 6, 2014 at 14:03 #497656I like it when the commentators say ‘enigmatic’.
December 6, 2014 at 14:04 #497657Good luck with your thread Prof.
Thanks. I’ll need it.
December 6, 2014 at 14:05 #497658I’m only interested in stewards’ inquiries when they award the race to my horse; something that never happens.
December 6, 2014 at 14:07 #497661Ballbriggan put down.
December 6, 2014 at 14:09 #497664After the novice chase at Sandown I suddenly thought: Maybe they should
encourage
jockeys to cannon into each other, make it part of the rules. Might make it more of a spectacle.
December 6, 2014 at 14:11 #497666Result stands Prof.
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 6, 2014 at 14:30 #497668Result stands Prof.
Course it does! I mentally bet my house it would as soon as it happened. I think that for a race to be awarded to a second placed horse, the winner would have to turn when passing and shoot the jockey dead. Racecourse steward voice: ‘Yes, that *may* be grounds for a reversal…’
December 6, 2014 at 14:33 #497669Turning into a ******* expensive day, this.
I bet Oscar Whisky wins the 3.00.
December 6, 2014 at 14:56 #497672I’ve backed Balder Succes as per the advice of my tipster. But I’m always very wary of Kingy.
December 6, 2014 at 15:12 #497677Yes, I thought a fiasco was on the cards.
I backed Oscar Whiskey to make sure he would lose.
I have Dodging Bullets in a couple of doubles.
Had Somersby in a double with Snake Eyes. That’d be right.
Somersby @ 9/1
Snake Eyes @ 4/1
Sweet Deal @ 9/2
Doubles, 2 betSweet Deal @ 9/2
Dodging Bullets @ 10/1
Doubles, 1My losing song:
December 6, 2014 at 15:26 #49768425 horses backed. No return. Not a penny.
The most expensive day I’ve had in a long old while.
Why do we do bother?
December 6, 2014 at 15:29 #497686It is extraordinary how each season the same thing happens to me. Today, something as expected as Christmas Day: Backing the wrong Pipe ‘plot’.
