The last race at Southwell looks very interesting.2000
KEEN INTEREST
Each way
Willie Haggas has one here who runs off top weight on only second go at a class six. Career record reads class four, five, four .
Dropped into class six the last time yard’s strategic placing could pay dividends at this low level.
The handicapper has him down to win this race comfortably therefore and certain physics indicators suggests he’s not fair wrong.

Has very good claims here too and with Rossa Ryan up he has a very good opportunity off this mark.January 19, 2024 at 18:27 #1677856Newcastle 1915

Yesterday’s Hero
each way
David Nolan
an interesting jockey booking and was a winner at the end of December for Richard Fahey.
Yesterday’s Hero won easily on debut beating midnightattheoasis. Penalised for that win subsequently and started life in handicaps too highly marked up, and moved into class three company stakes. Drops into class six for first time to coincide with lowest rating.

Laura’s Kidough
Stout
Both win
Good second last run and a good place previously suggests Laura’s Kidough not far away.
Stout wouldn’t have to improve much either.January 20, 2024 at 18:05 #1677976Laura’s Kidough missed the break and the inexperienced jockey claiming four pounds spurned every opportunity to reassert as the horse did all but win having made up a vast amount of ground as early by the home turn. The horse was sent wide around the field and used up bundles of energy and yet still looked the likely winner.
The only solace backers can take is that an inside line and a clean break should give him a six to ten lengths win next time.
Yesterday’s hero ran to form though in the other lucky last backed in and dropped in class 14/1 into 10s for third place.January 20, 2024 at 19:56 #1677990A classified stakes race

At the post his on his toes and trotting readily looks at least primed to run a big race.January 20, 2024 at 21:02 #1677997Free energy aplenty here on solely on visuals this trotter look visually impressive. On the physics free energy also was a big factor.
The race itself delivered all anticipation and the huge winning margin was rewarding as Cruzin Man bolted up.January 21, 2024 at 09:48 #1678052Sha tin

It isn’t a suck it and see race and if you can understand what’s needed in it, the likely winner becomes that little bit easier to spot.

has Oisin Murphy on board for third run and his second of the night.
Taken off heels 👠 last time out and made up ground hand over fist last run and simple calculation suggests he’d be capable of winning easily with a clean start.

high rating after the one winning run here a year ago ( 350 days) rated a long way clear of these but all based on the one run and not seen since.
unexpectedvalentyn was well beaten by this favourite but has run a few races culminating in a win here latest.
No guarantee lofty rating is justified and in any case crème de maris could be ring rusty.

Bailey’s warrior
Tamaris
Both winJanuary 27, 2024 at 20:46 #1678906Another winner for the🧵!!
The booking of Rossa Ryan was fundamental to the chances of Bailey’s warrior and it was going to plan until the horse was checked and had to give up a stride at a most crucial stage in the straight. Joe Bradnam however was front running (Hollie Doyle style) where you cannot meet trouble in running. Half a stone claim aided his momentum in the home straight and he was eased and always holding the belated challenge of Rossa Ryan with his checked run. So often the first and second get put up in these both win bets and these two were clear of the field and given a clear run next time ( even if not tonight,) Bailey’s warrior should prove a tough nut to crack, next run at the weights.January 27, 2024 at 23:15 #1678926Sam Houston arena

28/1 or better…
Hidden connection was winning last time out for the first time in seven runs but it was a valuable race and the winning jockey was riding for the first time in several runs and has winning form precisely on the horse.
Eased down it looked a plot and with the same jockey on board it could be the horse has plenty in the tank and could go well for a repeat performance.
Drawn alongside ( on the turn ) stall 5 from selection’s seven draw.
PERFECT WISH
Each way
Is three wins from four and could pull off a big shock here from this draw (physics). He’s in good order and despite being a huge outsider a consistent run would come as no suprise…..January 28, 2024 at 14:54 #1678995I won’t be around at the last race so this one will suffice.

Maiden hurdle
JP Macmanus has a runner who debued over an inadequate 2 miles recently. A pointer who has gone under the radar was no great shakes at points but cost Derek O’Connor’s handlers 75k.
Running two miles was also off a break after moving yards so could be in better nick after drifting like a barge on debut. This trip may suit and mark Walsh rides again.
