I, for one, would like to see Big Buck’s Vs Hurricane Fly in the Aintree Hurdle over two miles-four.
Big Buck’s, unbeaten in fourteen starts since reverting to timber, has shown plenty of pace over three miles.
Hurricane Fly, beaten just once in ten outings since his debut on these shores, has already won over twenty furlongs.
The best hurdler in Ireland Vs The best hurdler in the UK.
Willie Mullins Vs Paul Nicholls.
Both currently head their respective markets at Cheltenham.
Ruby Walsh would have a decision to make!
This should happen…but we all know it won’t. My money would be on The Fly.
December 17, 2011 at 15:34 #382994I’d also love to see it happen Bosranic. I’m surprised Big Bucks hasn’t already run in an Aintree Hurdle to be honest. It’s far more prestigious than the 3 miler at Aintree and they’ve always said he’s not short of speed.
I’d also side with The Fly.
December 18, 2011 at 03:19 #383093Tell you what, I’d be a lot happier backing Dynaste e/w for the World Hurdle after today. Connor O’Farrell raced far too keenly in my eyes and set the race up for Big Buck’s, though in all honesty he would never have won against the master. Given a more steady pace I reckon he’d be sneak a place and the ante-post 25/1 looks good now. He travelled really well today although emptying late on after the furious pace he’d been sent off at.

Spot on Boz, I would say that by some distance Dynaste was the 2nd best horse in that race and there is virtually nothing else in the division. If you knew he wasn’t going novice chasing then 25/1 each way is a very good bet
December 19, 2011 at 00:16 #383211I would also love to see BB versus The Fly over 2m 4f at Chelters.
I can see the money coming to support such a high-profile titanic match, with a list of hurdlers that could also upset the applecart in the equation as well.
Someone at the BHA get your skates on and arrange this epic duel – could be run at any Grade 1 track .
There could be bloated prize for all runners and massive wonga and a crown for the winner.
Get going BHA!! – now’s the time to take the best horses and market a race that transcends all the others and gives racing a massive bolt and a new audience.
Zip
Ps,
Big Bucks is the master and, as Ruby suggested, he offers you far better investment options than a high street – 1./3 etc etc etc
