Needless vandalism…
This is speaking from very recent personal experience. Had our shed broken into twice in the last couple of weeks, first time they got away with a very good haul and decided to throw something at our bathroom window!
Friday just gone and 2 weeks further on from the first break-in and they return for what they didn’t take first time, more stuff stolen and then they decide to hurl a brick through our french doors!
Now as bad as it is, and I hate thieves…I can understand that it does happen and luckily for us this has been the first time, we’ve never claimed anything from our insurance in 13 years so will be able to replace the stolen items, bit of an inconvenience, but can live with that…
What I can’t accept is the two smashed windows, why the hell cant they just be happy they’ve lifted a few quality items. It took me an hour and a half to sweep all the glass from our front room and my little girl has been terrified the last few days at the thought of her bedroom window being smashed while she’s in bed asleep.
What makes it even worse for me is the fact that if they come back again and I see them in my garden I will not be able to hold myself back, everyone who knows me says I’m such a laid back placid character, but I know for certain I would just not be able to stop myself and in the crazy world we live in today, I will probably be the one who ends up in trouble!
March 2, 2010 at 23:57 #280175Zamorston, I don’t want to worry you, but I’ve heard of cases where thieves, knowing that people will claim on insurance, allow time for the stolen items to be replaced and then return, so just be extra vigilant in the few weeks time.Feel so sorry for your little girl, though. Had another take on the school starting age today when someone told us how disruptive it is to children who have started in September to have their routine changed by an influx of slightly younger children, and how the January starters found that friendships had been established and they found it difficult to fit in with their classmates. I suppose there’s always another side to things that we don’t see.
March 3, 2010 at 00:04 #280177Suppose the police gave you a crime number over the phone.?
The first time yes, they didn’t even come out!
Had to report the missing items by message to an answerphone…
Second time they obviously came round straight away as the next door neighbours heard the smash and phoned them. The officers that came made out that they were disgusted that no-one had come out the previous time, not sure I believed them though to be honest!
If I knew anything at all about electrics, I would be very tempted togive the wiring a go!
March 3, 2010 at 00:08 #280179Yeah cheers moe, we’re definitely on our guard and ready for that, had a little tip off tonight though so see if the police will act on that tomorrow?

They’re not proper jumps racing, are they?
March 3, 2010 at 05:19 #280185My 8 year old getting to school for 8 am leaving at 5.00 pm armed with another half hour of the worst invention of all time….homework. When is she supposed to enjoy being a child and play with her toys etc?
There cannot be a sensible argument for it…Grrrr
Why are you sending your child to a school that keeps them there until 5pm anyway?

March 4, 2010 at 18:54 #280431People who wipe snot on walls, windows, doors, etc. Can’t they have the decency to put it in a tissue and bin it? I hope these dirty bogie buggers get ingrown nasal hairs for the rest of their lives!
March 5, 2010 at 11:25 #280556…………the thing that annoys me to an almost irrational degree is people walking through the doors bewteen train carriages and not closing the doors behind them.Is it just me or does this infuriate and also tend to illicit a very satisfying and loud slam more often than not?
March 5, 2010 at 17:44 #280653A little thing that annoys me is the latest "Sherbet Fountain"!
What was up with the bit of liquorice that sticks up out the end? This latest design looks more like a "Black mamba dildo" covering the liquorice itself!March 5, 2010 at 18:45 #280665Jockeys

Which reminds me…
automated doors between train carriages that routinely try & cut people in two, yes Virgin/Cross Country Voyagers, I mean YOU!
