August 28, 2007 at 22:39 #112844Best name for very obvious reasons is Zameliana (Zaha X Amelia’s Field)
August 29, 2007 at 01:49 #112850I think a clever one is Oceans Apart, by Desert Prince out of Ffestiniogg (apologies to any Welsh members if I’ve spelt her name wrong) Incidentally every one of her foals have been winners – Boston Lodge, Brecon Beacon, Oceans Apart,Harlech Castle & Eisteddfod.
Good grief there’s a blast from the past. I went on an Outward Bound course at Ffestiniog a zillion years ago.
I blame being dumped on Snowden at 11 in the middle of winter and told to ‘dig a bivouac and we’ll back in the morning for you’ for all my psychological twitches now
August 29, 2007 at 08:56 #112861I’m disappointed that still no owner out there has taken up any of the suggestions I posited last time we had a “horse’s name” thread – 18-letter gems such as Ordinarybrownhorse, Everybladeoftarmac and Isitstanleybaldwin remain up for grabs.

You’ve no idea how close you’ve come GC ~ went to Ascot Sales yesterday but left empty handed. Watch this space!
August 29, 2007 at 12:01 #112903The original daft name also remains one of the best: Potoooooooo, which was of course pronounced Potatoes
Geespot (Pursuit of Love-My Discovery) is one of the more clever-named horses of recent years.
And all Simpsons afficionadoes would have enjoyed seeing Amanda Hugankiss running in Point-to-Points this season – lets hope that Ivana Tinkle, Hugh Jass and Homer Sexual are waiting in the wings.
August 29, 2007 at 13:04 #112914My friend owned one called BACK N WIDE and that’s where he always was
August 29, 2007 at 13:10 #112915Old Peaty Sandy always insisted that he would call his first horse "Proufrou":
Pulled-Up, Refused, nowhere, Unseated, Fell, Refused, nowhere, Unseated.
August 29, 2007 at 13:28 #112916I’ve always wanted to call one ILL NEVER BE GLUE

Bachelors Pad (Pursuit of Love – Note Book)
was a good one too
September 2, 2007 at 12:19 #113339Pursuit of Love has been responsible for quite a few classics – I especially admire
One Night Stand (out of Relatively Easy)
Luvaduck (out of Pillowing)
White House (out of Much Too Risky)
Bachelor Pad’s full brother Kama Sutra
and
Rash (out of Stinging Nettle).September 2, 2007 at 12:31 #113341Wanko (Langfuhr (CAN) x Highland Belle (IRE)) won at Selangor today
September 4, 2007 at 19:03 #113623If I had a horse I would call it "My face" and run it at the posh meetings.
Just imagine all the posh totty cheering it on…
COME ON………………………………
