Very true Cork All Star and GDC ran his last race over hurdles being upped to 3 miles at the Punchestown Festival in the April before going novice chasing the following year if I remember correctly…..Pick a box, any box…. It’s a lottery alright

I think the 7/2 to win any race you have is the best bet, Yogi.

My guess is Mullins might prefer to run him in the Turners but it will depend on what happens with Facile Vega. If FV is quick enough for the Arkle, I am sure Mullins would like to run him there. But if he looks like having no chance with Marine Nationale, then he will likely run Facile Vega in the Turners and Gaelic Warrior will go to the Brown Advisory instead.

It was so much simpler when the festival was only three days with fewer races…

The any race is a good one, Yogi

He may not take to fences for whatever reason so could revert and take Big Bucks record

7/2 still available with WH for any race

Mullins always stated with GDC he had the speed for 2 and the potential over 3. In hindsight no surprises to see GDC in Turners and we all know what should of happened and what did…..

GW has always looked like a “Thinker” of the game especially left handed but I honestly think he is growing up and hopefully matured with another summer on his back, Upped in trip and a fence in front of him can see him kick on at Cheltenham over 3 miles.

Mullins has surely played the long game with him and he is wishing and hoping that he gets the last laugh…

I think the the last run shows GDC doesn’t have a turn of foot , unless it was more of the GC leaving a mark

No reason why Mullins can’t have more than one bullet going forward into future Gold Cups.
HDLG, Like you have said the Gold Cup can leave a mark, two Gold Cups will leave a mark

    Thanks for posting that article,
I thought Willie mentioned Fact to File skipping the hurdle route and go directly chasing this season.
First time Ive seen him in the market for the Wednesday novice chase, taken 14,s..
Im feeling a little relived as his was entered in my TRF 10 to follow as my Novice chaser..phew.

Very impressive today against some decent sorts.
I was surprised that’s he’s only a 5yo. Could have a massive future over fences.

I’d say his target at the festival will revolve around the question, can Willie’s obvious favourite Facile Vega, beat Marine Nationale over 2m.

Monster engine and doesn’t waste much time in the air. He reminded me a bit of Allaho although adjusts a little right rather than slightly left as Allaho does. Only a bit though, not Asterion Forlongesque.

For Willie, the stayer’s hurdle is a consolation prize. I share the reservations about GW going left-handed, maybe he’ll be the first to skip Cheltenham and aim at the KG and Punchestown Gold Cup, might start a trend of deflating the Cheltenham monster

His engine more than makes up for the jumping
GDC’s jumped poorly in the main when winning the GC but Willie was able to reign back his enthusiasm which at least enabled him to get the trip. I’d be more worried about Gaelic Warrior’s seemingly running away today as you won’t last at a staying trip like that

The horse they all laughed at will not be running in the Irish Arkle
I know Willie likes to juggle the pack and Gaelic Warrior would spearhead any race for him but dropping the future Gold Cup winner down in distance is not the plan as yet.. :rose:

Thank Christ for that. I have him in multiple bets for the Turners so would be devastated if he ends up in the Arkle.

He might yet end up in the Arkle if Marine Nationale gives Facile Vega another drubbing on Saturday.
