The big race of the week, of course! I have had the winner in the last two years, so I am going for the hat trick.
The ground is heavy, so this will require some serious stamina. There is only a small field and it is difficult to get away from the claims of Breeze Of Wind.

What a fabulous race. They had to go steady through necessity (I am at Hexham and aside from the heavy ground it is blowing a gale).
Good, confident ride on the winner but they all ran well.
Unbelievable they finished in a bunch , normally strung out like the washing

CAS ,funny you should say blowing a gale , i was talking to someone the other day and mentioned Hexham loses more meetings than most through high winds .
That 4 miler been raced there that day since i was a youngster 40 odd years ago .
Never been but will make it there one day . Stratford Races from London was my cut off point back in day .
