Any update? Out of the country at the moment so any information would be appreciated. Hoping for some dry weather….
March 11, 2017 at 00:36 #1291000Old Course is Good to Soft and it’s unlikely to start any slower unless some unforecast rain materialises
March 11, 2017 at 17:46 #1291180Going stick reading for the Old Course yesterday was 6.7, today it is 6.3

What does that mean?
March 11, 2017 at 18:04 #1291184Means it’s a slightly softer today. The lower the number the softer the ground. By comparison with previous figures from the course that would make it something like just on the soft side of good to soft.

Thanks
March 11, 2017 at 18:20 #1291189Just took the dog around the racecourse and the ground was good so I think we are almost certain to see good, good to soft ground on day 1.
March 11, 2017 at 21:38 #1291222The last forecast I saw said the weather will generally be dry, apart from possibly some rain on Sunday.
Mick Fitzgerald was saying today that rain was forecast for Friday, which could help Defi Du Seuil in his opinion, as he sees the horse’s only weakness as good ground on the day.
Good to Soft, as it was given today, would surely be fair to most horses on the Tuesday, although Yanworth and Buveur D’air fans will probably be booking out “Rain Dancing For Dummies” from their local libraries this weekend.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
