I sent off an email to the clerk of the course at Southwell asking him how the going on the fibresand at Southwell ended up as standard to fast by my estimation at +0.30s/f per furlong.
This could explain how Maltease Ah with a BHA OR of 53 suddenly improved his mark by 18lbs. <!– s:shock: –><!– s:shock: –>
AW going allowance table:
Fast +0.50s/f
Stand/Fast +0.18s/f to +0.40s/f
Standard -0.15s/f to +0.15s/f
Stand/Slow -0.48s/f to -0.18s/f
Slow -0.70s/f to -0.50s/fDo you just ignore the form from yesterday’s meeting due to the freak going? <!– s:shock: –><!– s:shock: –>
October 26, 2012 at 08:19 #418331I sent off an email to the clerk of the course at Southwell asking him how the going on the fibresand at Southwell ended up as
standard to fast
by my estimation at
+0.30s/f
per furlong.

53
suddenly improved his mark by
18lbs
.
AW going allowance table:
Fast +0.50s/f
Stand/Fast +0.18s/f to +0.40s/f
Standard -0.15s/f to +0.15s/f
Stand/Slow -0.48s/f to -0.18s/f

There is no way on earth you can get from 53 to 71 using an allowance 0.3 quick. You are talking mince as per usual.
October 26, 2012 at 08:36 #418334I had the going at Southwell as ‘Fast 8’ which translates to about 3 lengths per mile quicker than standard times
Which I would count as quite normal – just on the faster side of standard
With said going allowance I have Malteash Ah on 65 as the top rated winner with Saaboog just behind on 64
November 7, 2012 at 07:09 #419345When I sat down to work out the going allowance at Southwell yesterday 06/11/12, the going on the 5f chute was
fast
at
+0.50s/f per furlong
and on the round course the going allowance was
standard to fast
at
+0.25s/f
How can
Dazzlin Bluebell
a
49
rated horse get within
0.01secs
of the standard for the 5f furlong trip, if the going is not going off the scale
AW going allowance table:
Fast +0.50s/f
Stand/Fast +0.18s/f to +0.40s/f
Standard -0.15s/f to +0.15s/f
Stand/Slow -0.48s/f to -0.18s/f
Slow -0.70s/f to -0.50s/fFor the people who compile their own speed figures you might find
Dazzlin Bluebell
has suddenly improved
20lbs
The last time the going on the 5f chute was like this, back on the 3rd January 2012,
Ghostwing
broke the track record
Yesterday’s speed figures:
12:40 Gay Gallivanter 1m 0.25
47
01:10 Apache Rising 7f 0.25
49
01:40 Fayr Fall 7f 0.25
76
02:10 La Estrella 1m3f 0.25
64
02:40 Constant Dream 5f 0.50
44
03:10 Irish Jugger 2m 0.25
48
03:40 Dazzlin Bluebell 5f 0.50
55
04:10 Nurse Dominatrix 1m 0.25
