The money is coming for Purr Along but I don’t think she is the same class as Integral, even if she will like the ground.
Rizeena is out to 6/1 and I just can’t have her with the going likely to sap her stamina and the awful Newmarket record also hanging over her head.
10/3 for Sky Lantern does not tempt me, connections are said to be waiting to see how the first couple of races pan out before definitely committing her.
2/1 Integral may look a gift in retrospect, I’d certainly rather have that bet than the Evens on Arab Spring yesterday.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 11, 2014 at 12:35 #485211I have taken a chance on Certify at 16/1 ew, has won on soft and William Buick seemed quite positive about her bouncing back to form, big price for a Group 1 winner at the course if so.

Straight forward. Has Sky Lantern trained on?

July 11, 2014 at 13:47 #485223Gee Whiz, The stable lass leading Integral in would be good to have on your side in a ladies 100m race photo finish

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 11, 2014 at 13:51 #485224Certify looks gone at the game. Integral could have a few more Group 1’s in her, seems straightforward and very consitent. Hannon making noises before the race that he hasn’t got Sky Lantern fit yet and that she needed the run again.
July 11, 2014 at 13:52 #485225Very nice work from Integral there. I hope she stays in training next year, too.
Strictly speaking, it is probably too soon to write off Sky Lantern, but I won’t be following the plunge when she shows up at a mile on good ground. She has the pedigree to peak at 3.

She’s one to avoid for me until she proves she has retained her full ability.

July 11, 2014 at 16:58 #485236She didn’t go a yard on that going and ended up trying to make the running.
What she needs is a fast pace and decent ground.
When she gets the right conditions She’ll be a certainty, eh..!!

July 11, 2014 at 21:45 #485260Whenever a horse from the Hannon stable runs badly there is always something catastrophic why it hasn’t run well. Integral a worthy winner and another excellent training performance from Sir Michael Stoute.

Not catastrophic at all just conditions going against her to see her at her best.

July 12, 2014 at 07:18 #485301I’ve been told by Sky Lantern’s biggest fan that she didn’t have her usual sparkle walking around the paddock or going down to post so perhaps The Young Fella is correct about her being past her prime. Where next? Nassau?

I watched the race again today Nathan and hadn’t seen her at the post but if you look she is messing around with her bit all the time as she was in the paddock and seems agitated. Definitely not right Saturday, Hannon says they are running tests on her.
I’m convinced there is a good race in her this season before she goes off to stud and hope she simply hasn’t lost interest in her racing. Hughsie pulled his whip as she started to lose the lead but never hit her once as far as I could see, she was looked after in defeat and will be a different horse next time on her preferred going.
