Please let me say this is very much open to criticism and constructive discussion.
A few years back there was a system where five elements were considered (Postmark – now RPR, Topspeed, Massey defunct, Postdate & poss. Spotlight or similar) and if 4 of the 5 agreed it became a selection.
As I am aware the winners were plenty but the prices short. Therefore a staking plan such as “The Staircase” could well be ideal to boost profit.
I have recently tried to revive the spirit of the system and to date the results have been, lets say “underwhelming”, the sequence being: – L L Won 5/2 L L.
I have applied 4 elements which are not required to be top rated other than RPR.
RPR – Top Rated selection, take this horse and check: –
Postdata – No X’s against the possible selection. ? are OK.
Must be 1 2 3 in RP betting forecast
Timeform rating 5* 4* or 3*
I am looking at both handicap and non handicap races of Class 4 or better.
I am also wanting one selection per day.
The selection for Tuesday has shown 3 possibles: –
Fakenham 2.10 HOPE POINT 5* + LOST[/color:zxfw1qvm]
Folkestone 3.00 FIDELIS 5* – LOST[/color:zxfw1qvm]
Fakenham 2.40 BOTTMAN 4* LOST[/color:zxfw1qvm]
I have put a plus sign against Hope Point which is top rated 5* with Timeform and enjoys good comments.
I have also put a minus sign against Fidelis, also top rated with Fineform 5* but the comments are not as positive.
Bottman is there should the other two only become available at odds on I can drop down to it if at better odds.
From the three possibles I should have my required one selection.
All 3 choices are available at 6/4 but HOPE POINT is non BOG therefore 11/8 BOG.
As the top choice HOPE POINT is available at odds against it becomes the selection.[/color:zxfw1qvm]

November 15, 2011 at 12:54 #378005I hadn’t noticed Adrian Massey had finished on his site. Shame.
http://www.patternform.co.uk is still going, if that helps any?

It is good to know someone has read this and to respond with something constructive.
I did only mention Massey as I knew his rating was an element of the original concept which enjoyed a superb strike rate but sadly most of the winners were odds on which is ok if you bet that way and many do.
My idea was perhaps to find a few winners at odds against thus being 1.2.3 in the betting and 1.2 or 3 with Timeform and not having to be top rated with Postdata but simply not to have any X’s.
It will generate better prices but also a lot more losers.
I have no intention of posting daily but was looking for some interest and ideas.
