After lasts seasons break I’m back

    1st thread – didn’t keep score but we’ll call it a loss
    2nd thread – +£586.00
    3rd thread – +£160.00
    4th thread – -£30.00 .. :-(
    5th thread – -£100.00 .. :-(
    6th thread – +£41.90
    7th thread – -£100.00 .. :-(
    8th thread – +£107.00
    9th thread – -£175.00 .. :-(

Why is Nathan back? I hear you ask

Well My team winning the PL last season rejuvenated me along with a certain rival falling to a all time low :bye:

Reason I’m back tonight is Betway are last man standing on the 7/1 for Liverpool to win the Champions League
Isak rumours will be brought to a head very soon, and if he doesn’t sign for the reds 7/1 was the price beforehand and if he does it looks big
Slots had a year in charge and has his feet firmly under the table. The record breaking signings have made the squad strong even without Trent
Last season they were a penalty shoot out away from knocking out PSG.. albeit PSG were overall better by a fair margin especially in the first leg but Liverpool are 7/1
PSG looked cooked playing the World Club Cup in the final, how much the long season will catch up with them remains to be seen, the French league does give them opportunity’s to rest and rotate more.
Salah will be away for the Afcon but Liverpool do have options with Frimpong
I’ve not even mentioned Wirtz … :rose:

Thanks Landafar and good luck with your thread, I’ll be popping in from time to time

The 7’s betway for the CL has gone and Isak is still up in the air… certainly a circus with him basically going AWOL from the Newcastle camp…

Ladbrokes are now the standout and with the odds boost thing bumps it up to 7’s so I’m in again..

7/1 Liverpool to win Champions League £5.00

William Hill describe a boost from 8/11 to 1/1 as “EPIC” …

That’s a tad embarrassing, don’t get me wrong I’m playing it but … “EPIC” :rose: :rose:
Celtic to score in both halves.. They are home, reigning champions, Local rivals dropped late points today. Its certainly feasible … but “EPIC” ….

    come on…

1/1 Celtic to score in both halves £5.00

    -£20.00

I’ve just murdered blind Dave at snooker and billiards
We always have a match bet of some sorts to 1/1 that we agree on. Last season I beat him twice. The was he said Man United would be top 4 on Christmas day… he lost. :yahoo:
He double or quits me that Man Utd would be top 10 by the end of the season… he lost again.. :yahoo:
His wife said how can you take money off a blind man.. I told her its only a blind man that would bet Man United being in those places..

This year he is saying Southampton will be above Ipswich by Christmas.. I’m not sure of the first half of the season fixture list but I do know Ipswich are shorter in the betting than Southampton for promotion. Delap was sold for big money but they have reinvested that on making the squad stronger

1/1 Ipswich to be ahead of Southampton on Christmas day £10.00

    -£30.00

I was surprised to see that Birmingham have signed Kyōgo Furuhashi. This guy was prolific for Celtic, its harder to weigh up the difference the Championship will be for him but Birmingham walked League 1 and are about 4th in the betting for the Championship. Jay Stansfield is 2nd in the market for top scorer so the bookies obviously fancy Birmingham to score goals. Stansfield will more than likely be on penalty’s but I wouldn’t put him in the same class as Kyōgo.. bet365 are joint top on the price and offer a 25% boost on the bet.. Minimum stakes for a bit of seasonal interest

16/1 Kyōgo Furuhashi Championship top Scorer £1.00 Each Way 1/4 odds 4 places 25% Boost

    -£32.00

Talking of Birmingham, Stansfield and Bet365 they have gone evens (superboost) on him for one shot on target.. I’m guessing he will start but might be worth waiting for the line ups. The nugget on this bet is if he gets subbed for example takes an early whack and has to come off the bet continues with the player that takes his place.

1/1 Jay Stansfield at least 1 shot on target £5.00 (sub on play on)

    -£37.00

1/1 Jay Stansfield at least 1 shot on target £5.00 (sub on play on)

    WINNER ..

    Returned £10.00

up and running, should have hit the target in the first half with two poor efforts. Got the job done when not only hitting the target but scoring a rebound after Kyōgo Furuhashi hit the post

    -£27.00

Sheffield United very strong at home.. Only feels like yesterday they smashed up Bristol City in the Championship play off Semi Final.. before losing to Sunderland in the final. The points difference between these two was big enough and it was only mammoth efforts from Leeds and Burnley both getting 100+ points that meant United were not automatically promoted. Bristol City done well to make the play offs, possibly punching above their weight. The fans celebrated that like a team that had won a trophy and I don’t see them repeating such a high finish this season.. I’d like to have played the handicap -1 goal but it wasn’t that much bigger than the straight win

8/11 Sheffield United to beat Bristol City £11.00

    -£38.00

That was a shocker, reminder that early season form is like a horse needing the run
Bristol City looked sharp on the break

Also new manager at Sheff Utd. Don’t know but Wilder seemed to get the team to play to their full ability.

Agreed… He was far too expansive tactically at Hull and watching yesterday Sheffield United played similar stuff
Wilder at least had them drilled and tough to break down.

Abderdeen fell away last season and started with a loss
Celtic were not great last week but the 1-0 scoreline was not quite a fair reflection
Idah is a nuisance and gets chances

    4/1 Adam Idah 1st Scorer £2.00

Super cup… I think Spurs have a proper manager this season, they were tactically naïve under the big Aussie bloke. That said PSG are a superior side and if they have recovered from the battering Chelsea gave them they should be beating Spurs. The -1 goal appealed more than the straight win but fitness levels/fatigue could even it out a little but even so
Skybet offering a freebet on this game for a £10 stake.. I’ve taken it, will load that onto Liverpool winning the CL

    11/10 PSG -1 goal £10.00

    -£50.00

I’d take a win by a single goal tomorrow night for Liverpool but Bournemouth have lost their back line and keeper. They do have talent going forward and do create so both teams may well score if you like going that may. I prefer the carnage option
Celtic haven’t set the world alite in their first few games but haven’t conceded yet either so playing that against Falkirk in the cup game also tomorrow night in a double with the Liverpool handicap

    14/1 Liverpool 4-0 c/s £3.00
    25/1 Liverpool 5-0 c/s £2.00

    5/6 Celtic win to nil
    5/4 Liverpool -2 goals £5.00 DOUBLE

    -£60.00

Good luck with the thread mate, I have a couple of 1/1 bets with work mates.

Used to do £10 per season on Liverpool finishing above Man U, the took loads off me over the years, but I am getting it all back now. I took pity this year, and agreed Utd to finish within 5 places of Liverpool. I still see them being mid-table

Also £5 with an Everton fan on every derby game, the away side gets the draw as well. Can’t remember the last time I had to pay him :yahoo:
