Hello,
My nephew was 18 years old today, so we proceeded, as one does for a family "do" which was at a hotel that does a Carvery..my mother and father, my nephew’s nanna and grandad, of course attended.
My father has been struck down by dementia/altsers whatever, so for the last three years we have been talking about racing from the 1940s’ to the 1970s’,
Before his decline, which he was intelligent to realize, he told me, "I can remember everything that happened in 1954 but, I can remember nothing from yesterday"Sad, but we had to accept the condition. a man that lived and breathed racing, oh! and a a good Dad..

Tonight, he clearly did not have a clue where or why where he was, he suddenly asked,
"How is Henry Candy’s horses going on?"This threw me back, but I had to state Candy has probably had one of the best starts of the season…."Watch that fella, good ******’ trainer", was my father’s reply.
I sipped my lager and then my fathers when he fell asleep, and thought this must be an omen…
Tomorrow:
1.30NM: Duntulm..every chance.
4.55, NM: Candle..should win.
6.50: Effigy: outsider.
8.40, Chep: Signor Peltro.Class act, wen he feels like it.
9.10: Chep: Bikini, possible.I am not emotional, and my wife and bookie call me insensitive when they are being sensitive, but I think it has to be Candy Man Day tomorrow..
