I have never found Lanark Blue
and that’s strange because I lived on a cheese when I was young.A good cheddar can satisfy most people and most palates
It’s a little known fact.March 12, 2022 at 07:58 #1586595Lanark Blue has only been made since 1985.
Which reminds me I must place an order with my local cheese shop today. Going to need some sustenance for the week ahead.
March 12, 2022 at 08:08 #1586597I like that crumbly stuff with cranberry in it. And that ‘Seriousy Strong’ spreadable gubbins.

March 12, 2022 at 09:14 #1586605A rare point of disagreement, TTC. Each to their own of course – but cheese with fruit in it is the work of the devil!!

I love it 😄…and whoever referred to
their cheesemonger

March 12, 2022 at 09:44 #1586612Bonus points for the obscure Simpsons reference, TTC! 😂

BUY THE SUN
March 12, 2022 at 10:00 #1586619No need to quote it in full; I was merely awarding you bonus points for the reference in the first place.
If there’s one thing the world needs, it’s more Simpsons references. 👍

March 12, 2022 at 10:35 #1586626Dairylea Triangles and Stork marg on Sunblest Sliced White washed down with a quart of Hirondelle would seem appropriate sustenance for a five-day Cheltenham
March 12, 2022 at 11:48 #1586644Stork marg on Sunblest sliced white
– a quart would be needed to wash that squeaky stuff down.We always had salmon ( slightly soaked in vinegat) and cucumber sandwiches on Gold Cup day and always the Grand National. Not a cheese in plain sight. If you cut the crusts off, you may please some refined tastes present, but you’ll need an awful lot more sangers !
April 8, 2022 at 14:49 #1592050Never mind all this nonsense about cherryade. Has Mr Davies tried any Lanark Blue yet?
I bought a nice piece of the hard to find Dorset Blue Vinney in my local cheese shop today. A great result!
April 8, 2022 at 18:23 #1592127I haven’t!
And I must rectify this!
I will actively look tomorrow!

Did you try a Dorset Knob with it?

June 25, 2022 at 16:27 #1604104I bought some good cheeses at my local farmers market this morning, including a very fine piece of Stichelton (like Stilton but made with raw milk).
But the question everyone wants answered is: has Mr Davies tried Lanark Blue yet?
