Kauto Star won over 2, 2.5 and 3+ miles and was top rated over those distances, no comparison in my opinion.
The more I know the less I understand.
I still feel nervous watching Kauto Star jumping, even in replays. I remember they were betting on whether or not he’d get round in the first of his Gold Cups. John Francome always used to say he never looked like falling but it never looked like that to me.
I’m also in the KS camp. Two Tingle Creeks, four Lancashire Chases, five KGs and two Gold Cups speak for themselves.

Marlingford, I was also asking myself how many times during a season do we get eight runners in a Novices’ Chase?
If he’s better why did Denman finish in front of him 3 times …. I’m not saying Kauto isn’t a great horse but sorry again …. form is form , also Kauto never had a major issue Denman came back and beat Kauto two more times after his heart issue… If 2 boxers meet 4 times and the result is 3 to 1 who’s the better boxer ….
