There is no coverage on Terrestrial television for the Oaks today, can someone tell me what’s going on?

It’s going to hop in inbetween the tennis. It’s online here

I honestly think if the BBC can’t do racing coverage properly, they shouldn’t do it at all. C4 not faultless, but far more tolerable than the beeb.

I cannot for the life of me understand why the BBC don’t make one of the useless BBC3 / 4 channels dedicated sports channels. Nothing worth watching on those channels so put something interesting on them.

    ^ fair point.
Also it’s not as though BBC1 is showing some amazingly good quality TV while this is on… No reason why they couldn’t have both.

Only behind some red buttons..not mine [no satellitey stuff]. Rushed home from work for 1.30 to watch it. If it’s in the schedule it should be on. Rather miffed about it to put it mildly.

While that is true, it’s not really on to hold the rights to something as prestigious as the Oaks and then not show it.

It does look bad for Racing and I would file a law suit on BBC, do you think we’re second class sport? it’s been portrayed that way although Horse Racing offers more socially and economically than Tennis has or ever will to this country yet gets put on the back burner.

    BBC are pathetic.

I don’t know what is worse, Murray or those divy mugs with all this fashion shite, **** OFF! it’s about racing and betting.

Put the fashion shite on the red button, not the racing!

    No fashion on Racing UK.

    Only drawback is Lydia Hislop.

The "BBC" get more viewers when the tennis is on.

You, can hardly blame them for catering to viewer’s wishes?

+1, I can’t imagine how watching Andy Murray get beat (as usual) in the French Open could be more entertaining than the Derby meeting?

Is that the BBC’s remit and what we pay the licence fee for?
In any event tennis was on both the red button and BBC2.
While I don’t rely on the BBC’s coverage of the sport myself anyone who does has my sympathy, it’s been nothing short of a disgrace today. Should have the Grand National as well as the Derby taken off them.

It would be rather helpful if the red button label didn’t say ‘Live Tennis’ when live tennis is already on BBC2 proper. It’s ridiculous.
Tennis on BBC2, tennis and cricket on the red button, … oh, and btw, the Investec Oaks is also on there like some kind of lame postscript
Racing coverage is no more than an afterthought to the BEEB now. I agree, it should be taken from them and be given to a channel who can be bothered to give it fitting coverage.
    BBC coverage is abysmal.
