Just read that Teofilo will be standing at coolmores rivals Darley stud in ireland,Wonder if jim bolger tried to get him to coolmore, but they turned him down, especially after bolger says he admires darleys proffesionalism and the way they treat their cilents is that a dig at coolmore??

Darley will be standing a son of Gallieo and Montjeu next season. Will Sheikh Mohammed continue to boycott yealings by Galileo and Montjeu when he’s standing sons of the sires himself ? Does this mean the phoney-war is now over ? I hope so.

Of course it is.. How long agi did his boycott start? And when have godolphin start having a pretty poor time of it?! The Sheikh is proud but not stupid. He realises he needs to back down on this one.

I notice that the Bolgers will still own Teofilo 100%. Perhaps that fact excludes Teofilo standing at Coolmore? or perhaps Darley have promised some pretty good mares to get him started. Anyone got any "insider information"?

Well who’s going to want a foal out of Holy Roman Emperor when they can have one from Teofilo?? HRE has never beaten him, and even though he’s out of Danehill and a filly by Secretariat, the truth is he couldn’t beat Teofilo..

Only time will tell though I suppose… :D

I don’t think the fact HRE was narrowly beaten by Teofilo twice will be a factor for any prospective breeders when choosing between these two for where to send their mares.

How have stallions that only raced at two fared in the past? The one that springs to mind is Fasliyev.

    2007 16-100
    2006 27-108
    2005 29-325

They are the individual runner stats for Fasliyev over the past three years.

The Tetrarch, Raise A Native, Hail To Reason and Danzig did ok!

Aidan..are you saying Fasliyev had 325 individual runners in 2005 ? I can’t see that.

Yes an obvious error, don’t think he is quite up to that! ;-)

Not quite sure where your stats have come from… his actual figures are:

2007 114 individual runners, 19 individual winners of 26 races
(plus 46 winners of 75 races outside GB/Ire)
2006 126 individual runners, 42 individual winners of 67 races
(plus 46 winners of 76 races outside GB/Ire)
2005 107 individual runners, 37 individual winners of 52 races
(plus 35 winners of 65 races outside GB/Ire)

Relatively disappointing given his great first season, but quite a bit different from those quoted. Retiring as a two year old shouldn’t have any detrimental effect on a stud career, unless the injury was due to a genetic or conformational weakness.
