Rumours abound this afternoon that all is not well with Teofilio and there are doubts about its participation in the Guineas.
Some bookies have Dutch Art as favourite, others suspended betting.
Anyone know anything?
April 16, 2007 at 16:01 #52408Reports say its back into favouritism now on BF.. Nothing in any of the press other than that though….

April 16, 2007 at 16:17 #52410Big story on Racing Post site. Ladbrokes have him as favourite still but most lists are still suspended.

! Had a £2000/£125 each-way on my since severely limited Bet365 account – already spent it too.April 16, 2007 at 16:43 #52418Reported as having a foot injury on Setanta Sports website.
April 16, 2007 at 17:08 #52420out to 4.1 -1 now :(
April 16, 2007 at 17:16 #52421Drat – had the max allowable £300-£30 about him winning the triple crown on my completely unrestricted Quarrels account. Looks like I won’t be eating that value.
April 16, 2007 at 17:56 #52422A devastating blow to the flat season if true.
April 16, 2007 at 18:35 #52423From the Life.
Ladbrokes, however, opted to re-open betting on the Guineas and Derby shortly before 6pm.
Spokesman David Williams said: "We suspended both markets as a precautionary measure, but haven’t found anything to substantiate the rumours about Teofilo.
"We’re now back up and as far as we’re concerned, it’s business as usual."
Nice of Laddies. See they’ve kept his price at 5/4 due to no substantiation of the ‘rumours’. It must just be coincidence that they’ve cut Dutch Art, Strategic Prince, Adagio….
Thieving (insert profanity).
April 16, 2007 at 18:39 #52425Back in to 4.1 on betfair must be a quick healer ;)
April 16, 2007 at 19:04 #52426Tears in the Johnson household.
Seriously whatever the outcome, this reflects poorly on Bolger. The fact he is keeping eveyone guessing.

Agree. Only benefit I can imagine of this is backing Teofilo at nearly 5/1 now. Surely, if there was a problem Bolger would have said something by now?
Surely …? ;)
April 16, 2007 at 20:23 #52431Once he’s laid it for all he’s worth, you mean
It is a stinging blow to flat racing though, should Teofilo not line up at Newmarket, the widely proclaimed ‘monster’ not being able substantiate such claims on the biggest stage of all.
