I did love John Peel. But I was more of a Radio Caroline girl. I still have my radio from back then. My mum, when I begged for a record player, sensibly said that I wouldn’t be able to afford records so she bought me a radio instead. I did buy the odd record. I bought See Emily Play; used to walk miles to my boyfriends house, leave him downstairs, go to his room, play it over and over again on his record player, go back downstairs and leave. The relationship didn’t last long.

Ginge, I now have two reasons to remember 1966, your birth has been less painful than the other.

Ginge I don’t think I’m smart enough to get into a debate on whether space will exist if we blow ourselves up, surely the space would still be here and could eventually harbour life on a planet like ours?

Moe I love a good curry, best food around I reckon. My local place does an amazing lamb shank in a sweet masala sauce, unbelieveablely tender!

Beats the mushroom omelette I’ve just had. I live opposite a curry house and the smells emanating from there are very tempting.

Look away now Clive but I have just had a chicken jalfrezi in Wetherspoons. It was not very good. Barely any spicy kick from it.

I wonder if Mr Martin has changed supplier? Curries disappeared from the menu about two months ago but since they reappeared there has been less choice and a decline in quality. There are better curries in Asda.

Still, £7.29 with a pint as well is OK.

M&S curries are great. Pre pandemic our political discussion meet ups with our Durham friends were always held whilst consuming a M&S curry.

The jalfrezi and piri piri are particularly delicious.

Actual best quick curry is to get Holy Cow sauces in waitrose or wholefoods.

    They are superb
