T P O’Shea has one ride at Ascot today – and it is a rare ride for M Johnston on Mr Hamdan Al Maktoum’s Zaham.
This horse has a win rate of over 41% and if is fit after a lay off of 385 days, should lift the $22,00+ first prize in Ascot’s opener.

O’Shea is the retained second jockey for the owner this season, so the booking isn’t a rarity, just a new arrangement.

…..plus he also rides Zaahid, for the same owner, in the Victoria Cup.

His only mounts for Johnstone have been for Hamdan Al Maktoum so an easy mistake to make.
His mounts only future entry is The Hardwick so he obviously no wordbeater. He hasa tough task today but who knows.
Duncan won well at Epsom and will be a very short price to make it a double, but watching could be the best bet here.
May 10, 2009 at 21:49 #226722Duncan had a very poor head carriage going to post and still managed to win here.
He was showing off from the parade to the stalls. Seems to have shown bags of improvement already by transferring to Gosden
