Paddy Power go the following
Dawn Approach (11/10)
Toronado (15/8)
Declaration of War (5)
Magician (8)
Aljamaaheer (10)
Elusive Kate (14)
Mars (16)
Gregorian (20)I’ve booked my ticket and if this lot turn up it will be money well spent, should be a cracker. I’d be surprised if Leitor Mor wasn’t included otherwise Dawn Approach might have a slower paced race to contend with which wouldn’t favour any of the top 4 imo.

July 15, 2013 at 13:10 #445727Goodwood will suit TORONADO like you wouldn’t believe.

Hughsie will sit quiet as a mouse and time his run to perfection. You heard it here first.

My Nap of the meeting.

July 16, 2013 at 00:20 #445772Sorry Nathan, I know you think as much of this horse as much as I love Dawn Approach but…The Toronado Appreciation Society will have to put the Champers on hold because Dawn Approach will not be beaten in the Sussex Stakes.
My only wish is for a clean race between the two top class milers and the best horse winning (that’s DA of course
), no Stewards involved.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 16, 2013 at 09:31 #445785I like your confidence Trip your horse is a monster and a tough nut to crack he looked beat last time but was tenacious and battled back like the champion he is however the way Tor put it up to him at Ascot confirms my belief that my (older brother
) Toronado has the ability to get close and put in a solid challenge. I’m not convinced Goodwood is a better track than Ascot for Toronado but I do think he will handle it better than Dawn Approach who for me is seen at his best on a straight course. Toronado improved a hell of a lot from 2 to 3 years and being by High Chaparral will most probably do so again at 4 which is pretty scary considering he ain’t half bad already and a step up to 10f will see more progress imo, exciting times ahead. As for the present and the Sussex I cant separate them and like you just hope it’s a clean race and the best horse comes 1st(Toronado

July 17, 2013 at 12:47 #445870Two great horses meeting up for the 3rd time in their careers, you are so lucky to be there Nathan and hope you really enjoy your day, don’t worry if DA looks sleepy in the paddock he’ll just be conserving his energy for the task ahead.
I managed to get to see him after the Guineas and the groom brought him over so that we could stroke him, I’ve never been so keen about a horse (Frankel apart of course) I truly think he will win by further this time.
Good luck to them..let battle commence once more

July 17, 2013 at 21:21 #445895Look forward to seeing those Nathan and don’t forget the one of DA’s clean pair of heels as he passes the post in front of Toronado.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 22, 2013 at 17:41 #446230Dear Trip
it’s a 50/50 contest
with both horses being as equally talented
they are just as good as each other
nothing separates them
a dead heat is an even money shot
they could run 10 miles and still be level peggingbut
If Toronado does not win I’ll eat my hat……..

Now I’m really looking forward to the Sussex Stakes Nathan.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 30, 2013 at 10:09 #446918I’ve had a few quid with racebets that Toronado and Dawn Approach fill the 1st 2 positions at 2/1. Better value than a reverse forecast. Watch DOW scoot up now…

July 30, 2013 at 22:37 #447014I think Toronado has more improvement left in him than Dawn Approach. Toronado to prevail by a length or so.
July 31, 2013 at 11:28 #447046All this talk of DAvsT makes me think there could be a party pooper coming along in the shape of Declaration of War.

So don't run, just like the others always do
July 31, 2013 at 12:56 #447058Toronado is out to 5/2 and there seems to be a lack of confidence behind him. Dawn Approach looked the tougher horse last time and performed with great credit having run so badly in the Derby not that long before. I think he’ll be better today and with the ground as it is I expect him to beat Toronado by further today. Declaration Of War has flopped before and had there been three places up for grabs I would have had a fun each-way on Gregorian at 25/1. I may have a go anyway and hope he can nick second behind Dawn Approach as others falter in his wake. These "duels" often end up with a surprise in the mix.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
