I have added Damalisque @ 70’s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvAjVLSSFvg
December 13, 2017 at 12:22 #1331816Eeeeerrrr……bang goes the theory
December 15, 2017 at 13:43 #1332070Are you saying Damalisque has gone to Eddie Harty ?? is that definate?
December 15, 2017 at 16:39 #1332096Some reports say harty, some reports say mullins, to be honest i havent herd a definite quote from anyone, the rumours seem to be hes in ireland but thats about it
December 17, 2017 at 15:06 #1332654A good Supreme trial coming up at Ascot on Friday which seems, at this stage, very competitive. I liked the look of ‘The Clock is Ticking’and it’s nice to see a smaller trainer have a good horse on his hands. The winner of this, should a number of these show up, is going to be a good horse.
December 18, 2017 at 11:30 #1332786Just had a notification from Skybet they have gone NRNB on the Supreme today – in case anyone has been waiting for it
December 18, 2017 at 12:03 #1332792On REAL STEEL 16/1 he my bet here
December 19, 2017 at 17:29 #1333051Damalisque IS with Eddie Harty and has been entered up at Limerick on Boxing Day over 2mile 4f. It was fun while it lasted
December 19, 2017 at 17:52 #1333056Whats the problem? Can still go supreme. Plenty of supreme winners run over 20f before being stepped down to 16f. Champagne Fever and Labaik being recent examples I can remember

Very tasty alright, claimintakanforgan is bang in the mix for Cheltenham imo but he’s a bad favourite on a galloping track like Ascot – seems more suited to undulating LH tracks
You might get a serious Nrnb price for the supreme after a potential defeat on Friday
December 20, 2017 at 05:19 #1333117I’m on If The Cap Fits to win any race at 16s and he is entered for Fridays group 2 trial.
Skybet go NRNB and offer 16s for him. Which is the same as Hills any race still.
December 20, 2017 at 09:33 #1333130Damalisque
Well the rumours were correct, good spy work, and yes I agree game over, shame though

Yeah, I’m with this.
Unless Claimintakinforgan wasn’t fit last time, which would be unusual for a Henderson horse, then I think he’s been hyped to the roof.
December 28, 2017 at 20:55 #1334590Having an ante-post evening today so will put up some mid-term thoughts on Cheltenham races until I fall asleep!
My view of the Supreme is that it is no longer the stamina test many think, especially at 2m. Speed and fluent jumping have been the key assets in the last few years.
Of the market leaders, I’m putting Mengli Khan (attitude), Reel Steel, Getabird, Kalashnikov, Next Destination and Western Ryder (all speed queries) all on the scraphead.
I think two relevant horses have run somewhere near 150 so far. If The Cap Fits would be one with his last two wins looking like very solid form. Connections reportedly regard him as more of a stayer than a speedster and a tight two miles on quicker ground might be a worry. Happy to leave the 10/1 right now, especially with an outside chance of him missing the meeting or going for the Ballymore.
I sit next to a very vocal Claimantakinforgan fan and was worn down into backing him ante-post prior to his win at Ascot. I think the Lostintranslation Newbury form is extremely strong (hopefully boosted by Black Op tomorrow). Hendo’s horse did enough without being especially flashy at Ascot, though it’s a bit worrying that the form looks flimsy with the fairly modest Dr Des second and many failing to run to form in behind. Obviously he still has potential to be a classy hurdler but I won’t be properly buzzing about my 20/1 until he beats a better yardstick.
As to yesterday’s race in Ireland, I’m not quite as critical of the form as some. Real Steel ran a bizarre race but wasn’t definitely beaten by the strong-travelling Sharjah when both came down. Using a few marker horses, I’d put both behind the two leading brits at the moment.
In summary, I’d say this is a solid ante-post betting market and not one to be betting in at the current market prices. Claimantakinforgan and If The Cap Fits are leading contenders but there are the doubts I touched upon above. The picture is still taking shape and there is still plenty of time for a late ‘Ebaziyan’ wildcard to make an outstanding debut and join the betting at single figures.
December 28, 2017 at 22:10 #1334602Well I’ve gone back on myself and have had a bet without knowing what the superstar Samcro is doing.
Red Jack @ 20/1
With Bet365 surprisingly offering a cash out (at a small loss as he’s drifted to 33s), I’ve cashed out and stuck it all on If The Cap Fits at 10/1.
Am already all over him for any race at 16/1 but I’d be suprised
if he doesn’t run in the supreme now. I love the horse. Ever seeing him in a bumper last season at a small track on At The Races (cant remember which one) and backing him at 50/1 for the bumper after that (which he never ran in unfortunately), I’ve followed him.I have him in my 10 to follow and antepost as I’ve said and with Mengli Khans run (I felt he wasn’t travelling too good when going through the rail), I think my lad has an enormous chance now.
In fact, I’m most excited about that 16s any race slip than any other. The current 10/1 supreme is still value in my eyes.
December 31, 2017 at 23:04 #1335215What did people think of Real Steel the other day? It was a most odd performance. First of all he seemed to struggle with the pace but then he continued to battle on and might have gone onto won although Sharjah was looking the stronger finisher. I’m on him at 16-1 but not sure what to think now. Mullins didn’t seem overly concerned by the performance saying it was his ‘inexperience that caught him out’ whatever that means.
As for the fall at the last no one seems to have mentioned it but it looked like the horses were being blinded by the sun going over the last hurdle. Both he and Sharjah fell in a very similar steep manner having jumped the Hurdle very cautiously. Sadly the same seemed to happen to Nichols Canyon the following day and then the last hurdle was omitted for the rest of the races. What a shame.
December 31, 2017 at 23:26 #1335219Haven’t really been paying attention to either reel steel or Sharjah but I noticed reel steel was well fancied for that race ahead of Sharjah yet they were similar prices for he supreme prior to that race and still are.
With no preference or bias at all Sharjah looked like he was travelling al over reel steel so on that bias I couldn’t possibly bet reel steel unless there’s other evidence I’m unaware of
