Fionnegas is a thief- watch the way he hung in behind when finishing 3rd previously at the track and how he looked a hard ride coming to the last against the new Golden Cygnet. All of Dunguib’s novice hurdle form has an incestuous small field look to it and is highly suspect.
It’s the same every year- punters want to believe that the world is perfect, a new superstar is born blah blah blah- the first race will set the tone for the whole Festival and I’m firmly with the Barry Dennis’s of the world who will surely puff out their chests and lay the beast at odds-on.
I agree that Get Me Out Of Here looks a real threat but will be waiting for NRNB to back him as the County or Coral Cup might tempt them if he doesn’t go up too much.February 17, 2010 at 15:56 #277397Flat out heads for the Supreme
February 17, 2010 at 17:44 #277427What’s he doing with the beast? Seems he’s got a horse for each of the Novice Hurdles but not told us where he’s sending Morning Supreme
February 19, 2010 at 16:57 #277856Nice performance from Oskar Whisky there, very taking performance.

Why would he want to run him over a longer distance, they are already forced to run Quantitativeeasing in the Neptune or miss the Festival.
February 19, 2010 at 20:49 #277924Just noticed that Get Me Out Here has shortened quite a bit. I think he is second best but given that he is unproven on the track and picked up an injury (albeit minor) I don’t think 3.5/1 to pick up one of two places represented great value and the 2.75/1 certainly doesn’t.
February 19, 2010 at 23:50 #277969does anyone think dunguib might switch to the champion, binny out, zaynar turned over..might they be tempted,he’s not a young horse and they’ve xpressed concerns regarding the noise, perhaps it’ll be a little quieter by the third race?

Reading Philip Fenton’s recent quotes between the lines, it seems he may be coming round to the idea.
I’ve never really expected him to run in The Supreme, and always felt the Champion temptation would be too great to resist.
The CH dangers are falling by the wayside almost as we speak…February 20, 2010 at 11:48 #278027Nice performance from Oskar Whisky there, very taking performance.
I couldn’t agree more.
This will go very close, make no mistake about that.
Could be a very difficult to beat come the big day.
Dunguib or not.February 20, 2010 at 11:55 #278035Out of all of Henderson’s horses this year he gave oscar whiskey as his one to watch this season,
February 20, 2010 at 12:24 #278046Any kind of whiskey is ‘one to watch’, if Henderson is in the vicinity.
February 20, 2010 at 17:15 #278090Dunguib by 9.5L or more
3/1
GIFT
February 20, 2010 at 17:44 #278098I thought Menorah got a pretty modrate ride at Ascot today to be honest, possibly Richard was a bit banged up from the Planet Of Sound fall.
In any case he was clearly the best horse this afternoon and there were signs in his hurdling and the way he travelled (twice quickening into a very strong pace) that he will be a big player in the Supreme.February 20, 2010 at 17:53 #278102No Good Menorah….can’t see that yoke geting Dunguib off the Bridle.
Tomoro should be more interesting that today
February 20, 2010 at 17:57 #278104It would be almost criminal to run Dunguib against such inferior opposition which got me thinking (again) how high could he go on the flat?
The best way I could find to equate Bumper form to Grade 1 flat form was the lovely mare Turbo Linn who won the Aintree bumper a few years back and ended up running a decent race in The Coronation Cup behind Soldier Of Fortune.
Now much as I loved her, I doubt if anyone on this planet thinks she could have got anywhere near Dunguib even in her prime.
Which suggests Group 1 races would be well within Dunguib’s scope.
Maybe after he’s won this years UK and Irish Champion Hurdles, he could take a rest and then come back in the late summer for an Arc campaignFebruary 20, 2010 at 17:58 #278105Geldings can’t run in the ARC
