Id be having Hello Bud just in front of irish Raptor imo.
Id base that purely on the ground being testing.I think its between the 2.

If he’s come on for his recent reappearance,
Royal Rosa
is potentially well-handicapped on a mark of 119. He’s obviously had his problems and is unlikely to be improving at the tender age of ten, but I doubt that he’d have been kept in training if he was nothing but a lost cause and from what I remember he’s built well enough to plough his way around Aintree.
10/1 perhaps isn’t much of a price in a race like this, but off 10-0 I’m prepared to take the risk.
November 22, 2009 at 08:03 #259921As a rule Howard Johnson horses always seem to take well to the National fences – Theatre Knight, Bewleys Berry, Bestofthebrownies, Ellerslie George and Frankie Figg have all run very well over the fences at big prices (less so in the case of BB but in the others most certainly).
Think that Frankie Figg was a bit unlucky in that he overjumped IIRC in the Topham in April and Royal Rosa is sure to be well schooled for this. IMO there will be worse bets than an each-way double on the pair.

always goes well on his seasonal reappearance, has plenty of experience over these fences, and looks on a handy enough mark. This is the right trip for him too. He’ll do for me at 7/1.
November 22, 2009 at 09:50 #259931Irish Raptor has been laid out for this, I reckon.

I can understan people fancying Irish Raptor it being Aintree but having a mole in a hole I am assured Hello Bud is the one to be on.
Hope he’s as right as he was with Kyber King. I grabbed 5/1 ew this morning to be safe and for a lot more than I had on Kyber Kim but I know nothing of this Irish horse apart from the fact he’s Irish So I’m being half cautious.
He looked and was a bit ring rusty in his first race and that last one will have put him spot on for this and we all seen what he can do when he’s spot on. At the pace this is going to be run at I doubt if there will be more than 4 in this with a chance after 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 miles. Get behind at Aintree and it’s the toughest course in the country to try and make up lost ground on.
He could get beat by the Isih horse or even his own stable companion but be out of the first 3? Only if he topples over.
Hello Bud 5/1 ew safest bet of the year
November 22, 2009 at 12:39 #259972In the Grand Sefton, The Sawyer looks a bit woolly? Could do with a back, sac and crack?

That looked horrible – just seemed to run straight into the fence and not jump at all. Hope he’s OK
November 22, 2009 at 13:49 #259988McCoy doesn’t get on very well with those fences, does he?
He’ll want to forget that one.
November 22, 2009 at 14:01 #259989Good performance off topweight by the winner – don’t think that Palypso got on too well with those fences. Appeared reluctant to jump the third after Irish Raptor came down in front of him which doesn’t bode too well for the National itself which is a real hustle and bustle race. He also looked a bit too slow for the race for my liking too.
November 22, 2009 at 14:02 #259990Royal Rosa for the National, perhaps? Class horse coming back from injury..nice spin round today. Didn’t he cost an absolute fortune years back when they bought him?
November 22, 2009 at 14:03 #259991Perfect National trial for Hello Bud I guess. Will avoid a big hike in the ratings and will appreciate the longer trip in April

Bet365 go 50/1 and also 5 places E/W. I’ll have some of that
November 22, 2009 at 14:10 #259995Hopefully they put him away now and freshen him up until the weights come out

It certainly looked as though Denis O’Regan had another day in mind for Royal Rosa, moehat, and the National would appear to be the obvious target.

Needs to go up about 15-20lbs in the ratings to get in. Not likely to happen
