Well I didn’t see that coming.
What a strange race what the hell happened to Detroit City and Straw Bear?
March 13, 2007 at 15:25 #45760Iktitaf was terribly unlucky was travelling like a winner.
March 13, 2007 at 15:32 #45765nothing travelled like the winner though. I backed asian maze but to be frank, she has gone sour.
Not sure detroit ran his race.
Detroit City certainly didn’t run his race. Straw Bear broke a blood vesel.
Weird, weird race what could’ve been a great day for the Hobbs team has turned into a right squib.

March 13, 2007 at 15:40 #45773Don’t think Iktitaf was ever travelling as well as Sublimity though. Winner extremely impressive.
But what happened to Detroit City?
March 13, 2007 at 15:42 #45774I think those of who opposed Detroit City could say he wasn’t good enough Salselon.
What a terrible day though I should stick to the flat. :(
March 13, 2007 at 15:45 #45776Did Marble Garden finish?
Good enough (to win) or not he should’ve run a lot better than he did.

Me and you both about the flat ..
Anyone can have their opinion he’s not good enough, but more so everyone should see he didn’t give his running and is a lot better than that. Strange to see him off the bridle after a couple of furlongs.
March 13, 2007 at 16:14 #45782Backed Little Bric to recoup my losses, definitely sticking to the flat lol.
Though my 20p placepot is still going LOL:biggrin:
1st 3 races suggest its good ground, at worst.
The ground may have more than a little to do with Detroit City’s poor performance; imo he was outpaced at every stage of the race.

I haven’t checked race times yet but if its good ground there needs to be ab uproar as SOFT is the predomnant description, there isn’t a bad difference between soft and good.
Be interesting to see how the new course will differ from the old.
March 13, 2007 at 16:34 #45787Does the drying ground make Black jack ketchum a good thing?
March 13, 2007 at 16:44 #45789Although, I opposed DC, he did not run his race, though I still don´t believe he has what it takes to win a Champion Hurdle. He never travels well through strongly run races.

March 13, 2007 at 21:45 #45791Detroit City should have been pulled up at the top of the hill, Richard Johnson obviously will claim that because of the horses nature he was right to keep going but I was pretty angry watching the race today. Rather than saving him for a better day he decided to batter the horse down the hill when in fifth place, watch the horse trying to get over the last fence and you’ll see why I think the horse should’ve been pulled out.
As for Johnsons performance on Fair Along – What a joke
