Thats petty much what I am trying to say, I dont think his stable is akin to O’briens, but the thing with AOB is that his horses largely tend to follow certain simple patterns. Stoute in the other hand tends to aim for any level of race, and no matter where he goes his horses will open at half the price they should be and usually start even shorter than that.

Think Stoute has something like 300 horses in training in an average season. To have had 1% of them be decentish group1 hosres (who havent really set the world alight) and about another 2 or 3% to be lower group performers, doesnt IMO justify his reputation amongst punters that every horse he runs has a great chance.

With AOB, he too has a big stable, and usually much more classy sorts but it is a weaning down process with AOB and usually after about the start of June or so, AOBs 3yos are usually weened down to only decent ones and he will attempt to campaign them for the best wins he can, and they usually have such a level of form in the book that you know where they stand in any fields they contest, and you will seldom see him running one of really low quality after that (obviously the juveniles are the start of that weening down cycle once again). Stoute on the other hand will still be running horses who may have already ran to their best handicap level later in the season in the hope of something, but they will priced like near certaintys, and stoute will slmost always talk them up.

I do realise that backing stables works for some, but I usually try to find a potentially decent horse at a decent price/chance ratio, and through that I generally find that I am very seldom ever on stoutes runners. Usually one from Noseda, Chapple Hyam, Barry Hills, Jarvis, Gosden, The Dunlops, Bell, Charlton, Channon, Johnson, Elsworth etc, by default more than anything else,
