Brilliant shout antepost from Kev with Khaadem who is one of two for me here. As he rightly says, the horse is a very strong traveller which is a huge asset for this race. I think the 15/2 (7 places) last night was a fantastic bet Each Way.
Also played Gunmetal @ 12/1 (7 places) each way as I thought he ran a cracker at Ascot to win his race (so to speak) on his side but was simply on the wrong side for any chances of him winning.
Khaadem @ 15/2 E/W
Gunmetal @ 12/1 E/WAugust 3, 2019 at 14:22 #1450467Khadeem 7/1
Raucous 33/1
Arecibo 25/1GL to everybody!
August 3, 2019 at 15:30 #1450477It’s unusual for me to have only one in this, but I am sticking with Raucous again at 33-1 7 places.
August 3, 2019 at 15:40 #1450479I’m on 5 horses, Lake Volta and Justanotherbottle are just savers.
Main bets Khaadem (I backed him to win the Group 1 Commonwealth, so have to here).
Flavius Titus the other main bet (improver). Done Growl each way first 6, rarely wins, but should get something back. If (as I expect) the far side have an advantage. Lake Volta should take them over to the rail. Unlike last year, when I could only find a couple of front runners (backed winner at a massive price – my best result all year) seems quite a lot of prominent runners. I’d be against the high numbers, not much pace there.Value Is EverythingAugust 3, 2019 at 15:45 #1450481Get in. 1st and the place. 9s and 16s too.
August 3, 2019 at 15:47 #1450482Charlie Hills, there is no better sprint trainer.
Value Is EverythingAugust 3, 2019 at 15:51 #1450483Won very easily.
Superb race by Raucous with young Fallon on board, had he been on the other side I think he would have been a close 2ndAugust 3, 2019 at 15:57 #1450484After a proper struggle all week that’s given me some kick! Off out for some beers to celebrate 🍻
August 3, 2019 at 16:00 #1450485Totally agree, Viktors. Only horse in the top 7 to be drawn in double figures.
Value Is EverythingAugust 3, 2019 at 16:13 #1450486Well done all winners, especially Kev, Venture + Tin Man for stealing all those early prices.
August 3, 2019 at 18:21 #1450488Well done guys
Proverbial group horse in a handicap
August 3, 2019 at 18:45 #1450489Well done guys with Khaadem, he won that really well. Apologies to anyone else who backed
Summerghand, as I mentioned above I seem to be the kiss of death to Ryan Moore when I back
him. He managed a late running on place, but (as with Vivionn that I mentioned) he seemed
to find trouble from what looked a good position. By the time he got out of it the bird had
flown. Anyone who knows me on here will know I’m not a jockey basher, things happen in racing
and I accept that, but for a great jockey, and he is a great jockey, he does occasionally seem
to find trouble when (to my untrained eye) there was no need for it. Maybe he’s just having a bad
week, although he did get a win on Governor Of Punjab on Thursday, despite getting in a bit of a
mix at the start. Moan of the day overAugust 4, 2019 at 10:05 #1450514Well done all those on Khaadem, he looked the winner a long way out.
That was a great early price Kev.
August 4, 2019 at 11:58 #1450520Great early price Kev, well done, and all other backers too.
