I’ll stick with Teahupoo to maybe win it again.

A crocked Davy Russell arguably cost Teahupoo the race in 2023. I hope a crocked Jack Kennedy does not cost him the race in 2025.

I think Bob Ollinger is way too big, considering he loves Cheltenham.

So don't run, just like the others always do

The Wallpark’s shortening over the last week or so is a strange one. Not yet got the form albeit potential to improve. Has he been beating the favourite in his work at home? On the track has seemed to need a truly run race, so can’t imagine he works that well… And also usually a hold up horse and – apart from Gowell Road – imo there is not much pace in the race. Could favour prominent and / or those with speed. However, although The Wallpark is usually held up, has made all once – in a 3 horse race. Does the market know he’s going to go from the front? Given how much he has to find on form I can only see that as a reason for the market move.

I backed Teahupoo ante-post, but his form on good-soft is (so far at least) not quite as good as it is on very soft. That said, his good-soft form is still as good as these. I’ve laid him back to be just a saver.

Home By The Lee has been here several times before and failed. But he just seems more straightforward this season. Shouldn’t be up to winning an average year, but on paper this is a below average year. He’s a definate stayer, so will need them to go a strongish pace, but @ 8.6 imo makes that worth chancing.

I’ve got big prices about Lucky Place. Beat Gowell Road last time, giving him 6 lb… Progressive (and needs to be). And seems to only just do enough. Not sure to stay but the way he races suggests it won’t be a problem.

The other one I’ve backed is Nemean Lion. Never raced at 3 miles, but he’s one of the best flat horses racing over jumps and was a stayer on the flat so could even be better at 3m. If it is a slowish run race could have the 2m / 2 1/2m jumping speed at the finish.

Gowell Road will be interesting at a price if getting a soft lead.

Bob Olinger is one of the best of these, but has appeared not to stay. They’ll be relying on a very slow pace.

Crambo has Grade 1 form but hasn’t seemed in love with Cheltenham, possibly best right-handed.

The others don’t look good enough.

Going with Home By The Lee to make it fourth(?) time lucky. Looks much less complicated this season.

Mystical Power 16/1 EW and Bob Olinger 10/1 WIN.
Can’t have any bit of Jack Kennedy riding at the Festival this year. Didn’t back him once and I still think he should have stayed home.

I’m gutted for Home By The Lee. He was by far the form horse this year.

Likes that ground as well, such a pity he was brought down.

Elliot deserves that after wasting a whole season with Teahupoo. You shouldn’t get rewarded from that way of campaigning a horse.
