A lot will probably depend on how he is after his layoff, but I had an early bet on Blazing Khal at 12-1. A nice horse this, and I hope that he retains most, if not all of his ability
October 26, 2022 at 16:59 #1620355Bob Olinger is the interesting one. HdB said in his ATR stable tour that Bob will be hurdling this season, probably starting in the Lismullen Hurdle.
If he returns to his novice hurdle form, surely he’ll outclass this lot?
October 26, 2022 at 17:07 #1620359I’ve with the “Gravitas Of Gladders” here.
If ever a horse didn’t enjoy chasing it’s Bob.
If ever a horse had hitherto looked an outstanding staying hurdle prospect it’s Bob.
Bob is not your uncle – he’s a horse – but he could be the 2023 Stayers’ Hurdle winner.
If he doesn’t get injured, Ben!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 26, 2022 at 17:22 #1620362haha that’s an interesting shout Ian and Glad, one I hadn’t considered for this race myself!
Funny Silverspoon mentions Blazing Khal, I was actually considering him as my saver bet for The Nice Guy in the Brown Advisory! but had been waiting for the trainer to commit to either hurdles or fences.
October 26, 2022 at 17:27 #1620364Flooring Porter 15-2
October 26, 2022 at 17:40 #1620371I’d be interested in Crosshill if he stays
a) over hurdles
b) sound
but I don’t see him priced up anywhereOctober 26, 2022 at 17:45 #1620373Think I’m siding with Glad and Chezza here after having another look through those in the betting and re-watching Bob’s Ballymore win, he seems to go on all surfaces too which is a bonus, 10/1 with WH and 888 seems too good to pass up.
October 26, 2022 at 17:51 #1620374Take on Flooring Porter at the festival at your peril ;o) lol
October 26, 2022 at 17:55 #1620375Haha he was actually noted down as my third best ante post bet at around 6/1 after last years festival, but decided to use the money to do larger bets on Constitution Hill and The Nice Guy (I prefer limiting my number of bets to those I’m more confident in). Certainly agree with you he has to have a tremendous chance as he’ll have one target and one target only!
But I’ve gone in for the plunge and backed Bob at 10/1 just think that price is too big.
October 26, 2022 at 18:20 #1620379I took 6/1 about Flooring Porter.
I would be very worried about Bob Olinger if he is back to his best – but that looks a big if right now.
OK he did not like chasing but to me he looked like a horse who had fallen out of love with the game.
October 26, 2022 at 18:33 #162038310-1 is a good price if Bob just doesn’t like fences. It’s a rubbish price if he jumps badly because his back is stuffed (like Champ).
October 26, 2022 at 18:39 #1620384Fair comment – I’m banking on Bob having simply disliked going chasing.
Flooring Porter is a hugely likeable horse and I couldn’t put anyone off him.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 26, 2022 at 19:13 #1620389To be fair I didn’t even consider a potential back injury just thought maybe he’d fallen out of love with the game and that reverting back to hurdles could reinvigorate him, took the 10/1 but not a massive bet due to the question marks.
October 26, 2022 at 19:48 #1620393Might I may end up here
October 26, 2022 at 19:54 #1620396Would be surprised if Bob gets the trip in a stayers hurdle
He’s a bit stuck in the middle, don’t think he has the speed for a chsmpion hurdle or the stamina for a stayers
I’m definitely on the flooring porter train at this point
Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets beat before the festival then still wins his third stayers
If nothing takes him on early again I can’t see them getting past him
Those Cromwell Cheltenham carrots are potent
October 26, 2022 at 20:02 #1620398Flooring Porter and Bob Olinger are due to meet in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan over 2 and a half miles on seasonable debut. That is where Flooring Porter will be most vulnerable.
October 26, 2022 at 21:37 #1620409Very likely Bob will have too much pace for him at that trip
