Race won by Inspiral last year. It looks competitive and could throw up a few nice ones for the future.
Fairy Cross didn’t land a blow on debut but scooted up next time. It’s hard to gauge the form and she’s been put in at a relatively short price, not surprising as it’s the Appleby/Buick combination.
Tagline was outclassed in group 2 company over 6f last time so a step up in trip and drop in grade could see the required improvement but I think she has plenty to prove.
Bet Me showed an impressive turn of foot on soft ground on debut over 6f, no surprise were she to feature. I have her as the main danger to my selection Dance In The Grass.
She beat colts on her debut, comfortably so and over this course and distance. The 2nd has gone in since and the 3rd ran a decent race in the group 2 superlative stakes next time.
Mark Johnston knows what sort it takes to win this race, he’s won it a couple of times, so it would be good if he and son Charlie can grab it together.

The rest of the field have plenty going for them, there is any amount improvement to be had, 5 of them bringing winning form into this.
Come and have a go in what has been a quiet week so far.

    I went with Betme 9/2 with bet365
The step up to 7 furlongs looks tailor made on the little evidence available

A 2 year old race with 6 1st time out winners running

Has to be a no bet race for me

Bound to produce a couple of group performers this so definitely one to watch

As ff says it is a two year old race with lots of winners and still some untapped potential lurking but……..
I’m going to use an unproven draw research tool as an indicator to the outcome of this race.
If you take the winning stall numbers from the last six years and divide them by the number of years the sample is drawn from you end up with 4.333r
If you take the stall numbers of the first three home from last year add them together then divide by three you get 4.33r.
Therefore BET ME a four length winner at Goodwood is the selection.
Ryan Moore rides here as well as a maiden for SMS then flies out to take four more rides at leopardstown.
The fact that Richard Hannon feels the need to enlist his services with plenty of stable jockeys available speaks loudly.
Hannon won this race a few years back and Gosden who saddled first and third last year is conspicuous by his absence.
It is probably better to use this method in handicaps but using draw data gives followable trends established over a number of years, which can be used to support or refute opinion.

Thanks Nath. Front two pulled well clear, could be decent over further.

Thanks Sam. I felt I had a good grasp on the race, unlike tomorrow’s class 2 and listed race action which I’ll just have to take a pass on.
Hopefully Saturday’s action will inspire me enough to have a punt.
