(4:45) 277E Star ‘Best For Racing Coverage’ S’chase
(Grade 3) €20,475.00 ( 2m 7f – 5yo+ )[MAX 22]
NHFrm39-37 1 Follow The Plan(144) (OMcKiernan) 11,10
34114 2 Jadanli(145) (PJGilligan) – 11,10
1111- 3 Pandorama(148) (NMeade) – 11,10
11-13 4 Sizing Europe(160) (Hde Bromhead) 11,10
-4421 5 China Rock(142) (MFMorris) – 11,08
-33f5 6 Siegemaster(148) (DTHughes) – 11,08
-3596 7 Agus A Vic(124) (PMartin) – 11,03
31-52 8 Oscar Time(146) (MMLynch) – 11,03Should be a match between Sizing Europe and Pandorama on all known form. I’d say Meade and Carberry will be looking to stretch Sizing Europe’s stamina because Pandorama gets every yard of the trip. I got the impression last year that Pandorama is better left handed even though he won the Drinmore. Nice prep here for the English Hennessy all the same.
October 8, 2010 at 13:46 #321399Looks a nice race.
Will be interesting to see what price Sizing Europe is sent off at, after all he is being sent into ‘unknown territory’ so to speak in relation to the trip.
Im not so sure, personally, he will get it. There are plenty who say he will get the trip, but im not so sure.
Will make for a very interesting race.

I think this is one where we wait for the prices…should be interesting.

So don't run, just like the others always do
October 11, 2010 at 14:10 #321836Good to firm ground at the moment with watering taking place.
Hard to see Pandorama running on that sort of ground.
October 12, 2010 at 19:13 #322058Pandorama a non-runner, ground too quick for him.
October 12, 2010 at 23:06 #322103Predictable really.
Makes sh1te of what could’ve been a good contest. Should be nothing more than a schooling session for Sizing Europe now. Jadanli, Siegemaster and Oscar Time all need a good bit of dig in the ground. China Rock has the advantage in terms of race fitness from Gowran but he surely won’t be good enough if Sizing Europe is a genuine Gold Cup contender?

S’chase (Grade 3) €20,475.00 ( 2m 7f – 5yo+ )1 Jadanli(145) (PJGilligan) – DJCondon 11,10
2 Sizing Europe(160) (Hde Bromhead) – AELynch 11,10
3 China Rock(142) (MFMorris) – RWalsh 11,08
4 Siegemaster(148) (DTHughes) – RLoughran 11,08Watching brief for me. I think Sizing Europe will get a trip but I’ll happily let him run at the likely short price.

With the good ground, likely steady pace and his superior jumping, this really should be a stroll in the park for Sizing Europe, though winning easily wouldn’t necessarily guarantee his getting 3m in better company.
October 14, 2010 at 15:57 #322377I had my doubts about Sizing Europe staying the trip.
Yes, he will need that run, his first appearance of the season, but i will stick by what i said, that he won’t stay the extended trip, until i see something further which makes me change my mind.
Very good win by China Rock, and at risk of ‘after timing’, he would have been the one i would have selected, if i were to have had a bet in the race.
October 14, 2010 at 16:02 #322378Walsh at his brilliant best.
I wouldn’t be too despondent if I was a Sizing Europe fan. He’s worth another try over that trip with a more forcing ride. I do think he’ll be very hard to place this season. I don’t think he has the guts for the likes of Big Zeb over the minimum trip and we don’t have a great two and a half mile programme in Ireland. Down Royal next for the second season chasers race would seem to be the obvious next target.
October 15, 2010 at 10:37 #322495SE does not get the trip. He is a speed horse and should revert back to the 2M chases. While I don’t blame connections for checking whether he’d stay (as a staying chaser is what all owners ultimately want!) they should stop the folly now and get him entered into the Tingle Creek.
