Hi I was just wondering what, if any, does a stable that’s in/out of form makes to an individual horse’s chance?

At its best and worse can be enormous difference RR. Jonjo O’Neil had a long sequence of losers. One of the most important factors in my betting because it’s something I believe bookmakers/average punter does not allow enough for. Often worth opposing a shortie favoourite when trainer is out of form. Conversely, often worth backing a horse that ran badly last time (when trainer was out of form) if trainer is now in excellent form.

Both More Of That and Holywell ran when Jonjo couldn’t buy a winner.

First job whenever I work out a race is to give each trainer my own "in form/out of form rating.

JonJo is case in point for the season as a whole. Horses go from running really badly to running right up to ratings.

Occasionally a trainers horses starting running so well that even their also-rans appear to be outrunning their ability. Twiston Davies had a cheltenham like that a number of years ago.

I often wonder if thats in part due to a long partial suppressed spell which is long enough to put many of the stable horses down in the ratings or whether horses have a norm that they can for whatever reason be surpassed occasionally if they are feeling exceptionally good.
