Bluestocking @ 33’s
Might not have long to wait but i would quite fancy her to end up a better filly than the one who beat her on her last couple of runs, especially over further.
I understand not many fillies go for this race but it was quite a nice run last time and hopefully a bit more progress still to come yet. She was a bit quirky on her second run but seemed like the penny had dropped a bit at Ascot.
Three career runs is nothing really, these fillies could improve a stone quite easily once they get on a charge. If she will or not is another matter.

July 18, 2023 at 17:02 #1655814Bloody hope so, Nathan, as I’ve got two losing bets on this already – Flying Honours and White Birch – and I’ve scant faith in Savethelastdance.

The man talks nothing but shite and treats you all like fools with his imaginary prices and fantasies of cashing out losing bets and yet people still engage with him!
Stop feeding the troll!
July 20, 2023 at 08:28 #1655910I find Mike a perpetual riddle wrapped in a conundrum tbh.
Plenty of people respect his views and I think he sometimes makes good points and seems to back a fair few winners.
But he also does a lot of regurgitating what trainers and jockeys say about various horses’s distance and going preferences as if it’s gospel and 40 plus years in this game has taught me beyond a shadow of a doubt they can’t read a formbook any better than we can and are frequently wrong about their own horses.
As for cashing out – apparently Mike was able to do that with White Birch for the St Leger after it flopped in the Irish Derby whereas I am left lumbered with my losing bet on this now non runner because I find it hard enough to find a bookie who will take a meaningful bet off me in the first place let alone let me cash it out if it’s clearly going pear shaped.
How much do you need to be losing to a bookmaker long term before they will allow you to do that?
It’s a shame to doubt people’s word, but it’s at a hilarious stage now where I wouldn’t mind a forum rule that, while actual stakes remain private, you have to name the bookmaker and exact terms (odds, cash out terms etc) every time you make a statement about a bet.

July 20, 2023 at 09:10 #1655916Like Nathan, I just regard it as a long-running joke now – it’s not worth stressing about.
There’s bets people claim they’ve had on the internet and how bookmakers actually operate in the real world, especially if you’ve backed a winner or two with them.

I am only passing on quotes, either as a fair counterargument to what has been talked about, or as information people on this forum might find useful. I have not asked forumites to treat it is gospel, people can do what they like with the information.
July 20, 2023 at 11:19 #1655934No worries, Mike – and thanks for the very civilised private message.
If you put yourself out there, talking about prices you’ve got and cash-outs you’ve been able to do, it’s only natural those who can’t get those prices or cash-out terms will ask who the bookie is and doubt you if you decline to say.
I understand you wanting to protect a good deal while it lasts, but if you want to stop the flak I suggest you confine yourself to talking here about bets you’ve had with well-known bookies everyone can get on with (unless restricted) who you can name.

by far the best horse in the race the other day and after nothing going right for him was impressive in my view to finish as close as he did
Gregory just doesn’t do it for me, I can’t warm to him and I’m expecting him to get turned over at Goodwood if he runs.*If I’ve got the above all wrong I’ve asked Mike to cash out for me..

July 20, 2023 at 11:44 #1655941I can’t control the occasional flak or jokes from the non believers, that is life. No forum is perfect. You can’t please everybody. If I respond I will as respectfully as I can and without malice. I do my best not to be rude or disrespectful to my fellow forumites. Some bets I see from others ‘raise the eyebrows’ but I don’t make a fuss about it, I move on and concentrate on what I am doing.
I will keep doing what I’m doing as I am doing nothing wrong and my conscience is clear. No need for the ‘forum police’ telling me what I should say and shouldn’t say and how I should say it. If I want to protect the cash out offer I still have and not name names then I will.
July 20, 2023 at 12:00 #1655942I don’t see you as a clown or a troll Mike..
I find some of the cash outs impossible after a loss myself, like Ian so naturally that will “raise eyebrows” but in the grand scheme of things… who caresGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 20, 2023 at 12:06 #1655944“I find some of the cash outs impossible after a loss myself”
They are not impossible if the cash out offer is available to a customer. They are impossible if the cash out offer isn’t available to a customer. Straightforward really :o)
July 20, 2023 at 12:13 #1655945Fair enough Mike.
I’m surprised they keep the offer open to you as you over use it but you must be getting next to nothing offer when the price drifts as they never offer a price akin to befair exchange where the drift doesn’t cover much in most cases you do your stake or a majority of it when cashing outGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 20, 2023 at 12:25 #1655946Yes Nathan, depending on the drift and the price originally obtained, it may be sometimes be less than the stake. But if I don’t fancy the horse for the race no more I’ll bite that bullet and move on.
July 20, 2023 at 12:50 #1655948It’s also possible he’s not using his own accounts and has been able to obtain access to a “pumped up/clean” account whereby somebody has lost for sometime on the account?
I mean these don’t last forever either..
