I may yet back Angel Bleu myself if drifting any further. Supposed going preference is not as certain as a quick look at his form might suggest. Although continued the progression on softer afterwards, his second in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes (splitting New Science and Cachet) on good-firm was his best race up to that point… And his 1 1/2 lengths third to Perfect Power (which on race times was firmer than the official Good) wasn’t that bad and could be put down to other things – needing the race, sweated up and pulled too hard.
Value Is EverythingJune 14, 2022 at 11:44 #1601930Had a saver few quid on the win only market @ 59/1 Angel Bleu.
Value Is EverythingJune 14, 2022 at 14:28 #1601952Coroebus should win on form but since he’s no value whatsoever, I’m opting for My Prospero to spoil the party.
June 14, 2022 at 16:06 #1602008I’ll go with a couple of outsiders ew – Aikhal, whose dam improved a lot at 3, and Wexford Native on his 4th start.
June 14, 2022 at 16:27 #1602014Maljoom unlucky loser. Blocked in. Jockey hand on head.
But a win is a win. :o)
June 14, 2022 at 16:28 #1602015Maljoom looks like some tool to me
About as unlucky a loser as you’ll see
June 14, 2022 at 16:28 #1602016Fun race except for Wexford Native’s jockey!
June 14, 2022 at 16:29 #1602017A different day Majloom has that race.
No run got or sought, finished like a train.
Every door closed.June 14, 2022 at 16:31 #1602018Maljjoom
broke slow, last in a slow run race and nowhere to go after turning inGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 14, 2022 at 16:34 #1602020Ah!
Majloom no clar run and not even placed!!!
Mighty Ulysees had to travel furthest around the outside in a slowly run race.tbh Coroebus is probably better in a stronger run race, but do feel unlucky with the fourth.
Value Is EverythingJune 14, 2022 at 16:34 #1602021He was going some clip in the final furlong
His last furlong and a half must’ve broken the clock on sectionals
June 14, 2022 at 16:34 #1602022No standout 3yr old miler based on that – Maljoom looks very unlucky but he was closing on horses coming back to him after they all kicked coming off the turn and he had to wait so maybe his rate of closure was exaggerated by that.
June 14, 2022 at 16:35 #1602023Have to agree with the above posts about Maljoom. The horse to take from the race. Finished like a rocket.
June 14, 2022 at 16:35 #1602024Tbf to Coroebus a stronger run race would’ve suited him better too. He was pulling early.
June 14, 2022 at 16:38 #1602025Murtagh going off alarming about Pat Dobbs not moving down to the rail on Lusail to shut off Buick
June 14, 2022 at 16:45 #1602027Murtagh may have a point if Lusail was ever far enough clear to cross.
However, imo the very reason why Lusail was as good as second was Pat Dobbs ride from the front. As well as Caroebus… Majloom, My Prospero and Mighty Ulysees are all better horses than Lusail…But Murtagh chooses to go big on one negative.
But for the “head” measurement this would’ve been the ride of the day if not week.
Not sure he’d have been so critical had it been an Irish based jockey.Value Is EverythingJune 14, 2022 at 18:19 #1602049Allowing someone to get up your inside is a big no no for jockeys generally – having looked at the replay he did have the time to drop onto the rail which may have checked Coroebus’s run just enough but that is all in hindsight.
I would imagine once Pat Dobbs looks back at the replay he will say to himself in all honesty it was an error not to move over to the rail but hey ho such is life.
