Gosden and Frankie saying he is a 7f horse
Getting ridiculous nowGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 18, 2019 at 18:24 #1445815It is so frustrating! He was easily the winner at one point and as mentioned he just shy’d away. I so want to ignore him now but he’s looked the best horse in the race in every one and I still wouldn’t be surprised, especially with JG record as the season goes on that he’s the best miler. trouble is he’s burnt me so badly now, I even lumped on him anti post for the Guineas! Argh! Such a frustrating race even having King of Comedy at 40/1 antipost.
The fact JG and FD are clutching at straws now though is not a good sign
June 18, 2019 at 18:29 #1445816What is the next logical plan for TDH do we think?
June 18, 2019 at 18:33 #1445818Retirement?
June 18, 2019 at 19:14 #1445822Proper test of speed at a mile – slowly run on fast ground – might suit. Sussex Stakes?
If they’re serious about 7f maybe France? The Maurice De Gheest over 6 1/2 before the Foret 7f later on in the year?
Value Is EverythingJune 18, 2019 at 19:41 #1445828God knows how you read the form. The winner had a chance on two year old form and if you forget about the Derby you could have seen him in the shake up. The only hope for the mile division is that magna Grecia returns and sweeps up the division. I would guess the winner might be tried over 10f if magna grecia returns. Skardus running shows it wasn’t a fluke but I doubt anybody will be certain who will win if they all meet again.
Another amazing training performance by A obrien.June 18, 2019 at 20:31 #1445836What is the next logical plan for TDH do we think?
Nuclear scintigraphy (bone scan) to check no ongoing activity at the splint site or on the opposite leg, scope stomach to check for ulcers then drop in class to get his head in front?
June 18, 2019 at 22:49 #1445868I’m not backing him again, they should put him away and hope he is a better 4yo or just retire him
I feel the curragh pace bias was confirmed today so hermosa could be vulnerable
June 19, 2019 at 06:19 #1445895Put him away is a good idea now I think. Could then bring him back end of season to build up and finish in the QEII and possibly breeders cup maybe? Then keeping him in training as a 4yr old would be nice.
He just doesn’t look like he’s enjoying his racing at the moment
June 19, 2019 at 06:37 #1445898Love how the 2 surposed pacemakers sat at the back and the rest allowed Ryan to almost make all😂😂
June 19, 2019 at 11:22 #1445925Put away a precocious 2YO and wait for his 4YO season? He’s only going to get more and more left behind with time.
First time he’s properly had to battle and he just didn’t fancy it. Remember last year he was simply too good going past them all without much of a battle.
This not staying nonsense is wrong also. He stayed the 10 of the Dante more than fine so a stiff mile at Ascot isn’t something he’s going to struggle to get. More likely they’re throwing excuses as they know he’s a future stallion and want to keep his rep intact as much as possible.
King Of Comedy definitely the one to take out of the race, he looks perfect for something like a Sussex Stakes to my eye.
June 19, 2019 at 12:06 #1445937Can’t believe Circus won that, no idea why anyone would back him but Aidan does it again
June 19, 2019 at 14:00 #1445951I wouldn’t put him away for the season personally, I’d just get him freshened up and enjoying racing again and bring him back later this season. Sounds like they are going to the Sussex with him anyway as apparently he will better around a bend and Ascot’s stiff mile didn’t suit! Too many excuses now. Maybe he just ain’t that good as GT mentioned earlier.
