Copy and paste job for me from The Champion Sprint Thread

He’s been poor so far this year, but he’s never been that consistent anyway, so I’ve given Rohaan another try.

Ran well in it last year, so thought him worth a go

    Rohaan 40’s EW

    Regional ew @ 20’s

Take out the FAV and it does not look the greatest race really. Kinross sounds like he is on his travels abroad and with a dry week forecast doubtful Sense of duty turns up. If those two don’t run the place side looks quite attractive.

Been progressing all year and arguably ran his best race yet in the Nunthorpe beaten 2.5 lengths staying on well. Hopefully the extra furlong can bring out a bit more improvement from him.

Shaquille for me. Struggling to see who will beat him on the fast surface and one would expect odds on across the board soon.

Swore I’d never put Shaquille in a bet as he’s a nut job.

Well I did this week and now left licking my wounds as he’s just let me down for a cracking treble.

Did have Shaquille in a treble, but watching him load, felt uneasy so cashed out. Still after Auguste Rodin and Tayhira won earlier in my treble made a smart little profit.

These group 1 5f and 6f sprints this season have been an absolute lottery haven’t they

We’ve had a 108 in khaadem win at ascot, a 107 horse win the Nunthorpe and a 109 horse win the sprint Cup

Not much point looking at the formbook with these results

I think going forward unless I have a strong fancy il just be leaving them alone

Group 1 sprints are a large percentage of the time lotteries nothing short of sprint handicaps which many of them have progressed from. The short distance allows little time for correction unless you are Shaquille so it is a lottery.

It is easier for sprint handicappers to bridge the gap to Group company than it is for middle distances. Sprints are an afterthought to the big operations. Trainers of those sort of sprinters should always take a chance and fair play to them when it works.

I don’t know if the entries have closed for the Group 1 sprint at Ascot in October. If not, anyone with a reasonably highly rated sprinter which likes a bit of soft ground should be putting it in the race.

Red Rum, that’s the same treble I’d done and had Rodin at 6/1. Didn’t even check if a cash out was available.

If I’d been working today, won’t have been able to cash out. But this past week my birthday fell somewhere in-between so had the week off as holiday. Watching the loading on TV, hesitant about doing so, lucky I made the right choice.

Sorry about your bet GM23, maybe if it had made a bad start it would have won.

Pretty much had a feeling that his fate was sealed when the stalls opened and he not only started with them but was leading.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it came to mind – he just may well be one of those horses that likes coming from way off the pace and being encouraged when he is passing horses.

Reminds me a bit of an old sprinter back in the early 80s called Vorvados, who also seemed to get himself hopelessly outpaced early on only to come rattling home to win.

This run mirrors Shaquille’s run in the Acomb.
