I will be there – Lowlander, Drury Lane, London, Wednesday 5th March 7:30 – but probably still existing in another time zone and falling asleep at 8:00.
I make it:
PROBABLES
Grey Desire
Clivex
graysonscolumn
Salselon
Prufrock
non vintage
Colin Little
paulostermeyerPOSSIBLES
Happy Jack
Smithy?
TDK?
RoryNO WAYS
Glenn (Wednesday is Kingston-upon-Thames Gimp Swingers Night)Which is a very healthy state of affairs.
Please indicate if I have missed anyone or put them in the wrong category.
Could all definitely/probably going please reply here asap, and I will book a table accordingly. Shall we eat, as this is the only way of guaranteeing a table? Food okay (bar food) but it’s the vast choice of (albeit, overpriced) continental beers which make it worthwhile.
March 4, 2008 at 12:34 #148334I’m also a NR unfortunately. Hope everyone has a good night.
March 4, 2008 at 12:38 #148338Definitely planning on still coming along.
March 4, 2008 at 13:01 #148343Still intending on attending too! Not too bothered about food – but I’ll go with the flow…
March 4, 2008 at 14:39 #148361I want food. More specifically, I want the to-die for Risotto they do there, washed down by a bottle or five of (9%) Affligem Trippel.
Someone please put me in a taxi (or ambulance) at 11.
March 4, 2008 at 15:31 #148370Add me to the (highly) probable list.
March 4, 2008 at 15:45 #148373Salselon,
Per your post, I’m still a definite. I expect I’ll eat, but whether that’s bar snacks or something more substantial depends on how London the London prices are!
Mine’s a thimble of mild. Literally.

March 5, 2008 at 07:32 #148499Sorry guys I am going to have to switch to a "no".
With Fontwell being in doubt I am switching to Catterick this afternoon and doubt if I will be able to get back in time.
March 5, 2008 at 09:57 #148538Unlucky, Paul.
Spookily, I made the exact same switch to and from the exact same meetings on the exact same Wednesday two years ago! It was a rare weekday off on the run-up to the Sportsman‘s launch and I was hell-bent on taking in some jumps racing, but Fontwell was waterlogged.
Cue a mad dash up the A1 in time for the opener at Catterick, and a tidy sum won on Skew Whip in the novices’ hunters’ chase that paid for the petrol there and back. Ka-ching!

March 5, 2008 at 10:26 #148545Blimey I hope for Paul’s sake Catterick passes it’s inspection in a few minutes time (especially as Fontwell has got the all clear).
March 5, 2008 at 12:02 #148569Table booked for 7.30 here
March 5, 2008 at 12:12 #148572Nice one Salse
See you all later.March 5, 2008 at 13:18 #148584A few of us know each other already, but it may be worth taking along something clearly about racing to aid identification.
Failing that, I will have a copy of The Weekender on me.
Later all.
March 5, 2008 at 13:28 #148585I hope you all have a great evening. It’s a shame (for me anyway
) that I live so far away and don’t drive.Maybe a meet up in the North sometime will be the ideal night for me to meet some of you guys. Have a great night, drink plenty and have fun.
Mike

I’ll be head-to-foot in black, save for a blue anorak.
I look like a badly airbrushed picture of Bill Gates, or alternatively Harry Potter after a few too many fish suppers.
I’ll be brandishing the copy of the A-Z of the Grand National that I just bought.

March 5, 2008 at 14:40 #148606I’ll be dressed as a winning post and have literally glued a pair of binoculars to my eye-sockets.
Ok, perhaps not. I may, however, be in a suit with a heavy black overcoat and a multi-coloured striped scarf. I may also be carrying a medium-sized khaki box-satchel-man-bag thing on my left shoulder, and the whole ensemble may well be topped with a floppy black-grey dollop of spaghetti hair…
I could possibly be wielding my battered copy of today’s RP…
