Impressive winner but did not beat too much there.
    Persian force
    Evens 11/10

    Gaelic Arc
    Win
Well down the field but a length behind Tim pat in a point to point.
Debut in a maiden hurdle was ordinary before finding feet in bumpers.
Behind American Mike, then the nice guy having won one such race. Not seen since December and the formlines have been shot through the roof since Cheltenham.
This return to maiden hurdle could well be a formality…
Off course there is no such thing due to the glorious uncertainty of racing….

Held up out the back and thirty/forty lengths still held up on the second circuit. Late headway but never put into the contest.

    BRIEF AMBITION
    Ludlow
    2.20
    Win
Remains unbeaten over fences. Runs off same mark as last run. Course and distance winner.
Faces a runner from out of form yard and may well take all the beating. Already has the full house winning two chases, two hurdles, a point and a bumper.
Four out of five rules wins under today’s jockey Paddy Brennan.

Make that five out of six for Paddy Brennan.
Brief Ambition wins by a huge margin.
Mysterious pricing which leant towards stable reputation.

    FRIEND OR FOE
    Fontwell 1.30
    Win

I’m looking for reasons for this one to be beat and can find few.
The poor running of some of Nicholls yard is a mystery and a factor I’ve capitalised on to good effect in recent days.
Friend or Foe is rated many pounds superior to his two rivals and runs off his last winning mark. Has to give pounds and pounds away though but really should be up to winning this race. A drifter in the market this morning out to 11/10 and may even go off 2/1….

Friend or foe is one of the yard’s runners that has won in the interim and to be fair Ditcheat has sent out a good number of winners in the past few weeks. I put the yard’s poor overall form down to the disappointment of not seeing a winner at Cheltenham.
Bravemansgame not getting on the track burned many a finger and fried so many accas and reading Nicholls’ stable tour write ups there was a ton of hope surrounding Cheltenham and come the rains nothing measured up.

Friend or Foe put in an excellent round of jumping but could not concede the weight to his two rivals. Disappointing, but he did little wrong there and the weight concession was too much.

A shocker in the second race at Fontwell the replacement is at Navan.

    LAAKHOF
    Each way
New York city looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark with a rating of 101 but at the minimum trip looks vunerable.
    LAAKHOF
For Dermot Weld is drawn in stall 1 for this trip and the well bred horse is worth an each way bet here and should at least give the favourite a lot to think about.
    Chris Hayes rides.
This should be a formality for new York city at massive odds on but has been found wanting at a much higher level and has not looked like a drop in trip would suit, so has been dropped in class to find a way to win. The short trip emphasises the yard are desperate to win here…

Any distance backers will be sweating as a clear twenty length lead was relinquished as the winner eased down to about five or six but won comfortably. Give me a moment did it well.

Is at the veteran stage but scored a group three win last year. Has run to the highest rating of any runners here and obviously carries most weight has had a run out recently and has a string of wins at Chelmsford.

    PENSIERO D’AMORE
Goes down as the biggest priced winner the thread has produced @ 33/1 and will only be bettered by a tricast or forecast.
Marco Botti is a highly underated trainer and foreign listed form goes under the same category. That was his third winner in consecutive days and two of them were given with only ODDESSIO slipping through the net. His runner up the other night AGUAPLANO 15/2 was also listed. Giavellotto maintained his 100% record winning again 99 days after his ground breaking 100/1 win stunned Godolphins massed ranks. Newmarket have certainly hit the ground running.

Back to the mundane and Warwick 1pm provides a runner who fell foul of the stewards last time out and rightly so.
The penalty though was very harsh.
The trainer copped a massive fine jockey banned and horse got a 42 day holiday.
William Shanahan was suspended for 18 days and Gary Hanmer was fined £4,000 for schooling and conditioning the horse on the racecourse in that Shanahan had failed to ride his mount in such a way that he could be seen to ask for timely, real and substantial effort to obtain the best possible placing on FLAMING AMBITION (IRE), which was debuting for the yard after a 317 day absence.
    Warwick 1pm
    FLAMING AMBITION
    Win
    Reverse forecast with BENIGN DICTATOR.
Flaming Ambition arrives ready and fit to run, remember he was coming off the back of a massive absence and still ran a blinder. He is a winning pointer and has the distance, the clincher for this bet is the prize money which matches the fine!! He has to overcome Benign Dictator the odds on favourite, but has an advantage in that his imposed absence gives him a break, something the horse is more than adept at dealing with.

Despite running green FLAMING AMBITION rewarded those who persevered and read on through my epistle!!
He won at a good price (16/5) and the trainer reclaimed his €4k fine for schooling and the jockey paid for his time off by getting this free running horse home clear by five lengths.
The odds on favourite Benign Dictator was less than fluent and the winner can look forward to the assessor dishing out a mid teen 100 rating.
The forecast was landed too. £7.51

Makes handicap debut after impressing behind the talented wonderwall. Wonderwall was 6/4 that day but real price was 1/10.
Confirmed ability when winning next time out.
    Feasabily treated on handicap debut.
Won over this trip last time and also beat knowsley road in a point. One of only two horses certain to get this trip.

    SEBASTOPOL
    Win
    Hatcher
    Ardera Cross

    Combination forecast.

Sebastopol’s last time out win has been franked by the runner up going out and beating Thyme white next run. Hatcher who has an amazing 12 wins under the same jockey and Ardera Cross will be waiting in the wings if the selection cannot deliver. These two occupy opposition ends of the handicap. The bottom weight is out of the handicap.

    DO YOUR JOB
    Win
Has the right credentials to take this contest.
Won defying top weight last time following a decent 10 lengths second to Edwardstone.
That form well advertised at Cheltenham afterwards.
On significantly better terms here and having enjoyed the trip last time there should be more to come.
